As a going away treat for my partner we placed an order for takeaway which was €65+ and included the chicken katsu curry. Upon taking it home it was obvious before even opening the box that there was very little food for the katsu, the chicken was tossed in a box with some undressed lettuce, was ice cold and did not seem fresh. The rice was also a pitiful portion and was cold.
We tried a small amount of it before deciding it was unacceptable with a price tag of €15.50 which is not cheap for a chicken curry at all. My partner brought the dish back to the restaurant with the only thing missing being a small amount of the chicken and a fraction of the rice. A man told her she was lying and that the dish was all but gone, which was simply not true. She explained how she had visited the restaurant quite a few times and really enjoyed the food overall but this dish was simply not up to par but the man she was dealing with was very rude... then they just get another woman to keep saying sorry until you leave with no compensation whatsoever....
Just very disappointing and can say we won't return after this experience. Is it not better to refund a poor dish and keep a customer? We spent €50 on sushi and had no problem with any of it.. but you can't charge €15.50 for cold small portions of unfresh food and expect it to be...
Read moreI wish I had better things to say about this place. I was hopeful after reading the reviews but unfortunately my experience was negative. We ordered salmon and cucumber maki first, which came out pretty quickly. The pieces were very small, and the rice was warm and the sushi would fall apart as soon as we picked it up with chopsticks. The salmon seemed like it had been defrosted and was warm and soggy. We were told it would be a little bit of a wait to get our ramen, which we were totally okay with. I ordered the chicken ramen and my partner ordered seafood ramen. It took over an hour for them to bring us the ramen. We were as understanding as we could be about the wait, but the two of us were literally the only people in the restaurant the entire time we were there. The ramen was completely flavorless. They pretty much just put spaghetti noodles in water (YES, plain WATER not even broth. It was clear), and then whatever protein was ordered. It just tasted like a bunch of random stuff thrown in hot water, completely bland. I have never left a bad review for a restaurant before but I was completely let down. The highlight of the meal was the soy sauce to salvage the bland flavors, and the restaurant was pretty cute. edited to add: we spent around €80 for 2 servings of ramen and 2 maki rolls and a tip....
Read moreLovely sushi restaurant nearby Eyre Square in the center of Galway. serene mood and lovely décor. Excellent location for a romantic evening or just to indulge yourself to some fine sushi. Very tidy, kind, and helpful staff! In my brief visit to Galway, it was so nice that I returned again. Absolutely return! One of the greatest sushi restaurants in Galway. Every time I go, I order a ton of sushi, but it's well worth the money because to the excellent service and lovely environment. A must-stop for sushi lovers, I know I'll be going there every week. Since my family and I first started coming here, the service has always been excellent. Amazing food quality and a very soothing atmosphere can be found at this restaurant. Today for lunch, my grandmother brought me here, and we had a blast! 10/10, I wholeheartedly endorse. The miso soup was amazing and really tasty. Also deserving of praise is the heavenly-tasting prawn tempura, in my opinion. Sushi was produced by hand and on demand. There was no fishy scent, so you could tell the sushi was quite fresh. Everything was simple, and while you could end up overeating, I still strongly advise it. Google is a good option if you're unsure of what to order, but most people think of maki when they...
