The Ol' 55 Bar — Restaurant in Galway

I have to say I'm very disappointed by the way my friends and I were treated by a staff member called Éireann or Erin, with pink hair? My friends were playing a gig in the evening and were previously in the pub to set up their gear and when they walked back in with me and another friend she started shouting very loudly and aggressively at all of us for ID when we weren't even 2m away from her. On trying to explain that the lads were playing a gig and were already in there she continued to scream at them carelesly and not listen. She would not let them down the back before showing her their ID. When I produced my ID as she requested, she told me I was being cheeky so I questioned when I gave cheek as no one could say anything due to her continuous shouting and lecturing. She had my ID in her hand and began shouting at me to now leave the pub as she was unable to answer the question about where I gave her cheek. I understand that being a bartender can be a hard job with lots of pressure but part of the job is being able to listen and communicate with people, which Éireann was completely incapable of on that...

Some may tell you that The Skeff , Sally Longs or maybe even Caribou is the spot to be during a night out with the lads. I beg to differ I love the Ol 55 bar, it simply does not get any better than this, located just 5 minutes from Galway city. Great location and excellent music playing every time I have been in. There's board games and books for reading too plus a pool table down the back. There's up and coming bands on here regularly and table quizzes too. The bar staff are always extremely friendly and very good at their job. I took 1 star off for once getting a truly rotten pint of Guinness with a thin yellow head. Possibly there was a line issue or just a bad keg. Normally the Guinness is...
