DROP - Restaurant & Premium mixology — Restaurant in Bari

If I could give zero stars, I would. Drop Restaurant and Mixology in Bari was an absolute disaster from start to finish. We waited twenty minutes just to receive the menus – not food, menus – while staff floated around clueless and disinterested.

When the food finally came, it was mediocre at best and unnecessarily heavy, clearly prioritizing presentation over flavor or balance.

But what really tanked the experience was the horrific service. Disorganised doesn’t even begin to describe it – it was chaotic, amateur, and completely unprofessional. No one seemed to know what they were doing. There was zero communication between staff, no attention to the customers, and a complete lack of urgency or hospitality.

We weren’t the only ones either – multiple tables around us were visibly annoyed, left waiting for long periods, and looking just as disappointed.

Drop is the definition of a restaurant trying hard to look trendy while failing at every fundamental of good service and hospitality. Pretentious, poorly run, and a complete waste...

The restaurant couldn't be located in a better place. It is in an absolutely stunning spot. We were made to feel very welcome when we entered the restaurant, however the service could be improved. Despite there only being two front of house team members, the service could have been faster. I had finished a cocktail before our meals arrived. My partner had not ordered a starter, and my starter and her main came at the same time. I cancelled my main because my starter of octopus was quite filling.

I can't fault the food flavour wise, I really found it of a high standard, but I cannot understand the delay in service. There were roughly 30 covers in the restaurant, and I noticed 4 kitchen staff were working and we were one of the first guests to arrive, yet our order and then food took far too long.

Absolutely fantastic food and fantastic service. We are UK tourists and all of the staff spoke great english. Our waitress provided a fantastic wine pairing to go with our meal. But the real star was the food! My god the food was incredible. The octopus starter is by far the standout of the evening, it was genuinely one of the best flavour combinations I have ever had. Absolutely knockout. The catch of the day grilled fish was also excellent and clearly very fresh, they let you pick which fish you want and there was ofcourse zero fish smell due to the fish being fresh from today. Overall the best meal we had in Bari. The Atmosphere was romantic and the plating was extremely upper class. Surprisingly the prices were very cheap - we wish we found this place earlier as we would have come back every day.

If you are visiting Bari you cannot miss this establishment.
