Well this Ristorante was a pleasant surprise!!
Didn't have much expectations from this place but overall a great seafood experience!
Firstly, the inside decoration shows that it's a local tavern style restaurant and indeed locals were filling up the tables in minutes (we arrived at opening time).
The owner and waiter are very cheerful and I can say they really did make us feel at home. Cheerful and positive attitude! With a mix of humor! Just made our appetite grow!
We orderded: -Spaghetti Vongole -Spaghetti Scoglio
This place is known as a seafood place hence our above choices.
May I say that both dishes were fabulous! The seafood were fresh, Vongole was not strong in flavor but more gentle and the more you chewed, the flavor got dense! Scoglio (seafood spaghetti) portion was huge, you better have a big appetite, because the huge bowl was covered with diverse seafood and was practically a mountain of them. The owner was joking with me in Italian saying: wow big Italian Spaghetti! and we were both laughing together!
Overall I recommend this establishment if you love seafood and truly want a local experience!
The people here are charming and truly welcoming.
Grazie mille...
Read moreA very nice, cosy small restaurant where you can eat fantastic fish and specialties from Sicily. All pasta dishes are very good, spaghetti with mussels and clams are superior, and so are the "ravioli" in crab sauce filled with grouper. If spaghetti with sea urchins are available, don't miss them. Excellent grilled skewers, good grilled fish and some other fish dishes coming from (or inspired by) Sicily. Desserts, again from Sicily, are fantastic: an excellent Cassata and the "semifreddo" dessert with pistachios are absolutely to try. The only flaw is the coffee: not at the level you would expect from the meal you tasted... consider getting it in one of the numerous nearby coffees, but don't miss the fish meal if...
Read moreNo frills Sicilian food, with seafood featured heavily in their menu. Waiters could speak English and they have a digital menu with translations available. Clams in soup as starter was perfect. The spaghetti alla scoglio (reef spaghetti) was delicious, with a rich sauce coating the spaghetti and a generous amount of shellfish. Lasagna al forno (oven-baked lasagne) was perfectly done, crispy near the edges and creamy in the middle, layered with the right proportions of bechemel and tomato sauce. We ended off with a superb semifredo topped with pistacchio. There was also live jazz music from the nearby bars and cafes, adding to the wonderful atmosphere in...
