While the service, food, and wine were all exceptional, the owner of the establishment, Birgitta, is what makes Banco 11 special. Birgitta's insight into Alto Adige wines is unsurpassed. Moreover, she's incredibly personable.

My favorite wine was a Lagrein Rosé from Alois Lageder Paradeis, a local winery in South Tyrol. I liked the wine so much, I drove there the next day and bought several bottles!

I was hoping to pop in for a quick coffee late in the afternoon and to also use wifi. The waitress was very accommodating even though it was busy. I don’t think they usually sold coffee at 4pm (as they are predominantly a wine bar) but the lady said she would check and if they had milk they could make a coffee. Wow! What a refreshing and unexpected experience. The crowd was atypical -- most slightly older than average, seemingly more intellectual than average (just our impression), relaxed and into their tablemates rather than some "scene".
