La Taverna di Castello — Restaurant in Cagliari

My partner and myself went to have dinner yesterday here and we ended up food poisoned. We ordered mussels and we believed this made us go very wrong as we started automatically having cramps, nauseas and diarrhea. The day before we didn't eat anything dangerous, just pasta or toast so we are quite sure that the issue were the mussles cause it started quite near the moment after eating them.

Also, the staff was busy chatting with people in the street without caring much about clients as we had to wait long time for paying the bill: we waited for asking for it, we waited for waiter coming with the bill and also even with our card prepared to pay he disappeared without even looking so leaving us waiting again for them to come back and take card. This is considering that the restaurant wasn't busy at that time. So overall, very disappointed with the 4 stars...

We arrived at this restaurant a little earlier, following some recommendations we saw online.

The staff was pretty friendly and their english was very good as well.

After some ponderation, we ordered a red prawn linguini and a mixed fish grill. The main dishes were amazing (although they could be a bit bigger).

We also ordered the white house wine and, surprisingly, was pretty good! We even got a little bit tipsy because we asked for more.

The grand star, however, was the tiramisu- which was heavenly! It was so good we asked for a third one because we couldn’t get enough….it was truly a gastronomical apotheosis.

Overall, we strongly recommend this place! If you’re looking for a enjoyable, delicious dinner, don’t hesitate. Also be aware of parking if you’re getting there by car, as the streets can get pretty crowded in...

After running around through the heat, from one closed place to another - I felt cursed. I arrived very hangry but was greeted with such friendliness & patience (my boyfriend and I changed the order 3 times) - mille, mille grazie! The food was delicious & this restaurant deserves a Michelin star for its tiramisu! We first ordered only one to share but it was so good, we had another one. The owner noticed this & started grinning from ear to ear - she was so happy to see us loving her tiramisu so much. A place of great service & passion for food. Highly recommended! Mille...
