Today my family and I were unfortunate enough to choose this place to eat. The staff wasnāt welcoming and act with impatience since our first approach. I seat with my parents and, while they wait for the waiter (that ignored us for long) to take our orders, I went pick some ice cream for them. So, when I gave my mom her ice cream cup, before I even have the chance to say anything, the lady that was serving the ice cream started to repeat that we had to pay double for it. Seconds after she started repeating this, the waiter came and started yelling at me and my family. Literally screaming over and over again, in front all of the other clients, pointing at a sign up the counter that says āice cream to take away at the table would pay doubleā. They didnāt listen to me, not even once. I tried repeatedly to explain to them that I would consume other products. That we wasnāt there just for the ice cream. Because, despite my parents wanted the ice cream, I hadnāt had lunch yet. So I wanted TO EAT WHILE they have their ice cream. My parents are elderly. Should they stay waiting for me standing while I ate just because they were having an ice cream???? An ice cream bought at the same ācaffeā? First of all, this āgentlemanā needs to learn to respect PEOPLE. People just like him. After that, he needs to learn how to treat a CLIENT. The problem wasnāt the money, was the treatment!!! No one should be treated like that. I am a polite person and I treat people with the same respect I want them to treat me and I kept my behaviour that way. They charged me for four ice creams: I ordered one small and one medium, but payed for four mediums (yes, they didnāt charge me the double of the small one, as would be fair, if we can use the word āfairā at all). Very well. I payed and went with my family to have my meal at other establishment, one that I really recommend: āIl Piccoloā, just few meters away from all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would strongly discourage anyone from visiting this establishment, and if I could, I'd rate it -5 stars without hesitation. The experience we had here was nothing short of a complete disappointment. The staff exhibited an astonishing level of impoliteness and rudeness that left us shocked.
Our morning visit started with the purchase of a seemingly overpriced lemon sorbet at 8 euros, which we reluctantly accepted. However, our afternoon return for another sorbet before our ferry departure turned into a nightmare. We purchased a few sweets, a drink, and, yes, another lemon sorbet. Afterward, we attempted to enjoy our purchases at a table, only to be met with a tirade from one of the waiters. Apparently, sitting at a table was an additional fee, unbeknownst to us, and the manner in which we were approached made us feel like we had committed a crime. This level of disrespect is absolutely inexcusable.
In stark contrast, I would highly recommend visiting BUONOCORE GELATERIA PASTICCERIA. They offer exceptional service, delicious food and drinks, all at prices that won't leave you feeling like you've been scammed. The comparison between the two establishments is night and day, and the difference in quality is undeniable. You should be proud to support businesses like BUONOCORE GELATERIA PASTICCERIA, and I strongly urge you to avoid this regrettable place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will be perfectly honest in this review. I did not read any reviews before coming here. We stopped here for a quick bite to eat on our first visit to Capri. We spotted an empty table and our group of five sat around it. Immediately a staff member, who I took to be the manager due to the way he carried himself, came over shouting 'NO, NO, NO. IS IMPOSSIBLE. YOU CANNOT SIT. THIS IS ESCAPE' (indicating a thoroughfare from the back of the restaurant that the table was blocking). We hadn't moved the table but he insisted on us leaving our chairs so he could rearrange the layout. It felt as though the whole restaurant was looking at us. My 19 year old autistic daughter was sent into a meltdown and despite my wife explaining that my daughter was autistic (the Italian translation being 'autistica'), he either didn't understand or was too ignorant to try. His behaviour led to what should have been a pleasant dining experience away from the hustle and bustle of Capri Town shopping, into a disjointed and thoroughly uncomfortable experience. Fortunately, my daughter was helped by a plain clothes police officer and the staff at the nearby Prada. The negative reviews don't lie. If I ever come back to Capri, I will not be...
