If you’ve ever wondered what a hotel looks like after 49 years of zero investment, welcome to the Quisisana. It’s not so much a five-star hotel as it is a living, wheezing museum of bad taste and bad management. The furniture, fixtures, and fittings are literally collapsing around you. The “luxury” hairdryer proudly mounted on the bathroom wall looks like it was stolen from a 1983 gym locker room. At €3,000 a night for an average room, you too can enjoy the unique sensation of not wanting to touch anything in the bathroom without a hazmat suit. During the day, the lights in the lobby are turned off, not for “atmosphere,” but because the owners are clearly running this place on a candle budget. And don’t bother asking about restaurants: the hotel doesn’t have one anymore. Yes, you read that correctly, Capri’s so-called grande dame can’t even manage a properly functioning restaurant. The location is spectacular, the footprint enormous, the potential limitless. And yet the ownership has achieved the impossible: turning prime Capri real estate into a depressing relic. Don’t be fooled by the “tradition and authenticity” excuse. This isn’t heritage preservation—it’s stinginess dressed up as romance. If you want to see how to actually respect history while delivering modern luxury, look at Belmond Caruso or Le Sirenuse.
The truth? The Quisisana is being kept alive by the same loyal clientele who don’t know any better—average age, 75. The hotel will die when they do, unless someone with an ounce of hospitality knowledge intervenes.
Until then, this place is nothing more than a ghost of glory past, running on dusty chandeliers, broken fixtures, and the fumes of...
Read moreWe had the most amazing stay at Hotel Quisisana. The rooms were stunning. The service was just outstanding. The concierge, Marco was our favourite although the entire team was so obliging. The bar staff were so gracious. ||Everything was beautiful. Nice fluffy towels and bath robes; amazing room with a beautiful, large balcony; beautiful breakfast; lovely pool area; exquisite hotel. Fabulous location - so central. ||The only things we would flag as opportunities:|1. When you staying at a hotel of this standard, we were surprised that eggs were additional. I would increase the price slightly to include this and make it a better experience. But not an issue. We lived our breakfast. Lots of variety and so many options. |2. The head guy at the pool area who was training the junior watched us struggle with the umbrella. Just stood there waiting for the junior to come help us. He didn’t.. so the head guy continued to just watch us. He was the only person to let the experience down. I understand that you’re training someone but I think customer experience should come first. He needs training himself. ||Outside of this, I think Quisisana is amazing....
Read moreAmazing architecture and views. Pictures do NOT do this hotel or visit justice at all. There are so many intricate details that will make your stay incredible. From the cafes... piano bars... patio for aperitif... to the ocean views, pool, and luxuries... it is a dream. I am a spa-junkie who generally goes once a week for my only hour of relaxation, and I am blown away by the spa here. Steps lead down under the pool to a marble cave-type of area that feels endless. The prices are amazing and anything you can dream of is available at your service. We have enjoyed the saunas, facials, steam rooms, massages, heated ceramic loungers, teas, and indoor pool which is basically a giant hot tub set at a “total relaxation temperature.” On top of all of this, the service is impeccable. Espressos & filled croissants delivered in the morning to the room, concierge making dinner reservations for you, and when we arrived they immediately upgraded our room, delivered the most beautiful fresh flowers and chocolate cake along with Champaign. A lot of times you are finally ready to “go home” at the end of a vacation, but the Grand Quisisana makes you want to...
