If you're looking for a truly delightful experience in Capri, look no further than Gelateria Buonocore. It's not just an ice cream shop; it's a feast for the senses. The aroma of freshly baked pastries hits you from a block away, drawing you in like a siren song.
The first thing that struck me was the incredible service. The lady working there was an absolute gem – the kindest and most helpful person I encountered during my entire stay in Capri. Her warmth and enthusiasm were infectious, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Now, let's get to the good stuff – the food! Their Nutella croissant is legendary, and rightfully so. But be warned, if you want to snag one of these flaky masterpieces, get there early. After 10 am, the line starts to form and can get quite long (a testament to their popularity!). The wait is definitely worth it, though. One bite, and you'll understand why. But the croissants are just the tip of the iceberg. Their custard donuts are light and airy with a perfectly creamy filling, and the other pastries looked equally tempting in the display case.
For those looking for something savory, Buonocore doesn't disappoint. Their focaccia, overflowing with fresh herbs and olive oil, is a must-try. They offer a variety of other savory options as well, each one promising a delicious explosion of flavors.
Of course, no trip to an Italian gelateria would be complete without gelato, and Buonocore's doesn't disappoint. They use fresh, high-quality ingredients, resulting in incredibly smooth and flavorful gelato. And to top it all off, they handmake their cones right in front of you, adding a touch of theatricality to the whole experience.
In short, Gelateria Buonocore is a must-visit for anyone visiting Capri. The combination of incredible food, friendly service, and a delightful atmosphere makes it a truly special place. ...
Read moreHate to say it. But this was the best gelato I had during our trip to amalfi, Naples and capri. Thought it would be an overpriced tourist trap. Well it was expensive for sure, but place doesn’t look like a tourist trap at all.
The line is long and I made the mistake to enter the store thinking I could get a coupe of Gelato. They don’t serve gelato inside. Only cakes and snacks. So I just ordered some. They were amazing cakes. I got a pastry that had a lemony cream filling. That was so tasty. Amazing.
Luckily my family were waiting in line when I went out. (Perfect combination) We ordered some gelato. Price was super expensive. 5€ for 1 scoop. We get a freshly made cone. But that’s crazy price.
But it turned out to be the best gelato of my trip. Maybe best ever?!? The gelato was perfect for me. Had a the lemon and chocolate style. It was so light and fresh tasting. It was so damn good,…when we finished…..we felt like walking back back and get a second serving. And now….we want to come back to capri and get a few servings. Probably best what we ate on this trip.
The price is absolutely ridiculous. But...

The smell is so incredible that it gets you to keep following the smell till you arrive at this cute family owned patisserie and gelato shop. Yes, it's the incredible smell that gets you in the door, but truly the beautiful family that owns the shop that keeps you visiting each day. The gelato...hands down the best my family and I have ever had. And we have had a lot of gelato/ice cream in our lives. It evens comes on a warm waffle cone. Never had that before! Gelato will never taste as good, as creamy, and as tasty as this one. We decided to try some of the baked goods as well, and WOW! Magical cookies that I hope to have again sometime. We took some with us for our plane ride and it felt as though we were still in Capri while traveling home. We cannot thank this beautiful family for sharing such wonderful Capri treats with us and the conversations we shared each night. Yup...we went every night we were there haha. If you are in Capri, or in Italy in general, Buonocore is worth...
