Tradicional, family-owned Italian spot in Como, just at the age of the historical town, with seasonal lake region dishes, affordable prices and super friendly staff.

We arrived on a Wednesday night, the couple who runs the restaurant were very friendly, Rosa runs the place, and they have the cook in the kitchen.

There is no English menu, but Rosa speaks English if you need.

We started with prosciutto and the house white wine, and a hard cheese from the region. Freshly cut, thinly and great flavour. The cheese pair very well with the prosciutto. They also served bred rolls baked in the house, very soft and light.

We ordered two dishes, a gnocci di Gorgonzola, and a risotto al pesce persico, as I could find is a very traditional risotto from lake regions as Como.

When the plate arrives, the smell of brown butter and sage was amazing. The fish was shallow fried to perfection. The risotto was more a sticky style. The balance of the dish was perfect.

The gnocci, I reckon one of the best textures of gnocci I ever had. The sauce, was not overwhelming as a lot of gnocci al Gorgonzola usually has. So good!

For dessert we had the panna cotta and the crostata made by Rosa that was still warm when we got it. Those dessert are the taste of a Nonna, cooking for you. Very simple, but well executed.

Amazing experience,...

It was an amazing Italian experience. Local people in the restaurant, authentic food with a set choice of two course meal, pasta for starters and roast pork with salad or potatoes for main course. We didn't know about this and were wondering why we were not given any menue. The staff were very friendly, and the service was extra fast. If you are tourists, like we were, driven to this restaurant by Google reviews, prepare yourself to practice your Italian language, because staff doesn't speak English. We had a lovely lunch that feeled us up for the entire day. And we paid only €13....

Beautiful family owned and run restaurant. We were looking for an authentic Italian dinner in the busy and tourist filled city of Como and we were lucky to stumble across this absolute gem. The food was delicious and freshly prepared by the owners. Lovely atmosphere with locals and very good prices. Would really recommend this to anyone looking to avoid the tourist traps in the city. The tiramisu was also one of the best we’ve ever had. Thank you.
