Terrible manager, with good staff. I usually don’t leave reviews, as can be seen from my account, but I must do this time. My friends and I came here because we believed the 4.7 review. However, we were very negatively surprised. Right when we ordered and the water was put on the table, we could hear the aggressive and loud manager. He was first yelling at the hostess, who was polite and sweet. We thought it was going to be once only. Then a waiter - who seemed to be junior/still learning - was yelled at by him aggressively. You don’t treat staff like this, especially not in front of customers. Even if it’s a gourmet restaurant and staff make mistakes, you treat your staff with some respect and teach them. The manager here was very unprofessional and rude - we could constantly hear his aggressive voice while he was we yelling at his polite staff. We couldn’t even swallow our water anymore and decided to cancel our orders and leave. The junior manager was polite when we were leaving. The manager nearly yelled at us too when he realised we were leaving because of his behaviour. That was a shocking cherry on top. I eat out at good restaurants daily and have never seen an unprofessional manager like this. The 4.7 review is probably done somehow by themselves, as it does not reflect the reality. We hope the staff find a better place to work than for this...

Read moreIn the heart of Como but enough outside the centre to relax and have a quiet dinner or lounge with a delicious cocktail, lies this gem. Do yourself a favour and avoid the "tourist traps" opposite the Duomo and go here instead. Admittedly not cheap or mid-price, but the quality and level of attention to the dishes and to the guests absolutely convinces. The menu offers plenty of choice and we ate deliciously. Although I was actually in the mood for a carpaccio, my husband and I were both able to make a good choice from the dishes on offer. From start to finish, we were more than well taken care of. The tartare was delicious and - at an extra cost - topped with freshly shaved truffle (€5 per gram). Actually a side dish but in this case chosen as 'antipasti', the mixed salad (insalata verde) was tasty and fresh. Exactly as you would expect. Both of us opted for the ‘maccheroni carbonara’ and thankfully we were not disappointed in our choice. Freshly prepared with egg yolk, pecorino cheese and guanciale, this was a wonderfully luxurious and flavourful dish, prepared as it should be. The décor (outside and inside), the easy chairs, the attentive attention given to our dogs; everything was right. I can only give this restaurant 5 stars and highly...
