Our visit to Ambrosia Restaurant in Tuscany was truly a highlight of our trip. Nestled in the heart of the region, this charming spot offered not just a meal, but an immersive and unforgettable experience.
The setting was absolutely beautiful indoors, with a cozy, rustic ambiance that made us feel right at home. One of the most unique features was the glass floor, through which we could see an ancient well beneath our feet – such a fascinating and unexpected detail that added even more character to the space.
We were lucky enough to take part in a hands-on experience where we got to make our own homemade pasta and dessert. With guidance from the warm and knowledgeable Chef Mateo, we rolled, shaped, and cooked our way through a delicious and fun afternoon. Sitting down to enjoy the meal we created ourselves made it all the more meaningful.
To accompany our food, we were served the house wine, and it was absolutely amazing – smooth, rich, and the perfect complement to the dishes we made.
Ambrosia is more than just a restaurant – it’s a culinary and cultural experience that we’ll always remember. Highly recommended for anyone looking to savor the true...
Read moreTaking a cooking class with Chef Matteo at Ambrosia was an unforgettable experience that awakened every sense. From the moment we stepped into the warmly lit grotto, it was clear we were in the hands of a master who cooks not just with skill, but with soul.
The highlight of the class was the pasta — hand-rolled to perfection and paired with green tomatoes and what Chef affectionately called "kissing garlic." The balance of acidity and sweetness, elevated by the subtle kiss of garlic, made for a dish that was both rustic and refined.
And then there was the spinach flan — a revelation. Delicate yet rich, it practically melted on the tongue. The nutmeg crème added a velvety warmth, and the tomato shavings brought just the right brightness to round out each bite. It was a dish that felt both traditional and inventive.
Chef Matteo’s passion is contagious, his techniques approachable, and his storytelling elevates every moment. Ambrosia has crafted more than just a cooking class — it’s a celebration of flavor, community, and the kind of food that stays with you long after...
Read moreWe were speechless of how bad the food was, it all began with amuse-bouche which was a wet ball of bread, like somebody chewed it before and spited it on the plate, next completely tasteless ravioli and sheep ricotta gnudi , the texture was off and no spices what so ever. The only bearable dish was zucchini flowers. And they decided to finish it off with “sorbet” from rotten watermelon…. Truly disgusting!!! Never again! Like are you for real??? We payed 90€ and actually wanted to cry. I guess that is why this places was only one not...
