B&B San Francesco - Cortona — Hotel in Cortona

Proprietress was efficient, and the rooms clean. However, the listing states 'free parking' and yes, the few spaces near the B&B were 'free' as in you do not pay, but they were never FREE in that there were always local cars in the spaces. While the location was good in that it was as within the walls, but the twists and narrow roads and parking on steep inclines (standard cars in Italia) was not fun to drive. And I hope this was a one off, but other tenant in the adjacent room, despite the law, was smoking and the odor hit you like a wall when you entered...

Cortona itself is a great place to visit. Full of great restaurants, bars and cafes. It's foodie heaven in this town. This is a very simple but incredibly tranquil base. Very clean, very relaxing. The manager is lovely. A short walk from here to the heart of town. Watch out though as Cortona is full of steep walks so you need to be reasonably fit to visit this town. If you do and you want somewhere peaceful, clean and a special to stay at a great price then I highly recommend...
