MUST-EAT restaurant in Cortona! I visit Cortona a lot AND I always make sure I visit Trattoria Toscana. Every single time, it does NOT disappoint. The friendly, courteous staff to the delicious food they deliver. In this highly touristica town this restaurant stands out.

This visit, I had the fresh fennel salad with orange slices and fresh grano padano cheese and the fagiole. YUM! So tasty and delicious. They also have fresh pasta's that are typical in Tuscany, Perugia and Rome. So be curious and try a few.

You might find it hard to find a table as it is always busy now, but be patient, it is worth it. Be prepared to pay cash although they take card too. Sometimes the internet is down in these 11th century buildings.

As you make your way up the hill in Cortona, do not miss this hidden gem. Servers are friendly and nice, so be nice too! Relax, enjoy Italy and remember, good fresh food has to be prepared. Mange, mange! Until next...

One of the best places in Cortona. Visiting this beautifulll medieval town we were looking for place with good, typical toscanian flavors. Tempted by good reviews we came to Trattoria Toscana.

It was beautifulll saturday afternoon and we choose one starter - slices of toscanian dry cured ham with foccacia, traditional pasta, steak and pear cake. Everything was excellent. Two Ladies serving the customers are the brigtest side of the restaurant.

White wine was excellent along with great cappuccino. Prices for the quality od the food are also superb. Full...

Had dinner here after receiving a recommendation from our innkeeper. Great family run trattoria with authentic Tuscan cuisine. We had house antipasto platter for two--could easily serve 4-5 people. It was excellent, especially bruschetta and the pecorino cheese. We also ordered orecchiette pasta--another amazing, flavorful dish. We were too full to order any other dish, but finished the meal with limoncello and a piece of cake. That and a bottle of super Tuscan ran us 55 euros--amazing value for a remarkable meal! Can't wait to go back before we leave...

Localizzata al centro di Cortona, quando entri ti senti subito accolto dalla proprietaria. Quando ti accomodi al tavolo, avverti subito quella sensazione di essere capitato al posto giusto. Non ti trovi, infatti, in una di quelle location turistiche, ma sei seduto in una vera trattoria toscana. Il menu ha una buona gamma di scelta, suddiviso per tipologia e con il prezzo chiaro. Le portate sono davvero azzeccate. La sera di Pasqua noi e i nostri amici abbiamo spaziato da un filetto di chianina al tartufo, al carpaccio di Finocchi, ai crostini con verze, lardo e peperoni, alle tagliatelle con funghi porcini e ad un semplice filetto di chianina. Ogni piatto era cucinato con rara maestria, gustoso, perfetto nella cottura e con un gusto antico, non omologato a nulla di assaggiato prima! Il servizio è stato rapido e attento, sempre con l’avvertenza di non essere invadente. La sublimazione è stata infine raggiunta con i dolci: la torta pere e cioccolato e quella della nonna a detta dei nostri amici erano davvero buone, ma l’apice è stato toccato sia con “normali” cantuccini e con santo, davvero deliziosi e con i mas cantuccini con vin santo, nei quali la variante era rappresentata dalla farcitura al mascarpone dei cantuccini… Una meraviglia assoluta, per la quale ci siamo più volte complimentati. Ottimo il liquore finale della casa offertoci dalla proprietaria. Prezzo assolutamente adeguato alla qualità e preparazione dei piatti gustati: davvero complimenti e arrivederci!!
