L’angolo del riso — Restaurant in Desenzano del Garda

What a fabulous restaurant. We loved that the menu is all about farm products; specifically grains, with the signature dishes being risotto and fresh pasta. We thoroughly enjoyed the grilled chicken and grilled vegetables and "the king" risotto. We ordered a litre of the house red (local, from Bardalino), and whilst not to my taste, my husband thought it was a really enjoyable wine. The service is not "slow" as some other reviews may suggest; it is a relaxed restaurant, with a relaxed atmosphere and food cooked fresh to order. That takes a little time. If you prefer your food to be immediate, then maybe go to a chain restaurant for dinner. As for the staff speaking "little English", firstly, we had no problem being understood, perhaps because we made an effort to speak in Italian, because afterall, we are in Italy. ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO

Non faccio mai le recensioni, ma questo posto lo voglio asfaltare. Prenotato per capodanno dalle 21 alle 23 per 8 persone ( che nessuno lo faccia in qualsiasi periodo dell’anno). Arrivati alle 21.10, loro erano in leggerissimo ritardo. Ci siamo seduti alle 21.45. Antipasti ok ma costretti a mangiarne quasi metà con le mani per mancanza di piatti e posate. Primi: prendete solo le fettuccine, non i famosi risotti che vengono consigliati da tutti. Risotti creati con il sughetto insapore della lidl e super saporiti e super grassi come il celeberrimo risotto all’isolana. Ora passiamo al piatto forte: i secondi. Grigliata mista livello suola delle scarpe, cottura sbagliata della tagliata etc. Nota importante per i secondi ; SU 7 SECONDI, ARRIVATI SOLO 3 ; 5 piatti di patatine ordinati e MAI arrivati. Costretti alle 23.58 a lasciare giubbotto e patente al banco per correre in piazza per festeggiare momentaneamente i fuochi per poi rientrare. UNA VOLTA RIENTRATI LA STORIA ERA FINITA, GLI ALTRI SECONDI NON SONO MAI ARRIVATI. Ovviamente non abbiamo osato chiedere il dolce. DIFFIDATE DI COLORO CHE SCRIVONO BAGGIANATE SUL POSTO, PROFESSIONALITÀ E GUSTO. Personale sì giovane ma CLAMOROSAMENTE DISORGANIZZATO ( abbiamo dovuto chiedere più e più volte posate, calici di vino ; ogni volta si dimenticavano ) GUSTO adatto per clientela proveniente dall’estero con mancanza di papille gustative. E alla fine nemmeno UNA SCUSA O UNO SCONTO. Dicendo tutto quello che bisogna dire : il loro problema è stato fare i turni. Ps: SE NON SIETE CAPACI A GESTIRE I TURNI, NON FATELI. Ordered 2 spaghetti bolognese and two kid’s chicken meals. Got one meal each. Too salty and bolognese was only minced meat, no sauce at all. It was rubbish.

Service was a mess for whole night and at the end they said that they can only accept cash. Ok, but we never did get any receipt. One antipasti, two bolognese, two kids chicken meals, bottle of water and two glasses of red wine cost 80€, no receipt. Absolutely no go. You will find better place...
