The pizza was nearly inedible. You can describe it as a piece of overpriced bread with little toppings. My Boa pizza was probably the worst. We were a table of 12 people and half of us left most of the pizzas, no one from the staff asked us if everything was ok. Cherry on the top we asked to split the bill in equal parts and we mistakenly paid for 13 people. Once we realized we went back and politely explained what happened. The gentleman at the cashier just said “you paid the right amount” and didn’t even tried to investigate the matter. Thing is that one of our group decided at the counter to treat his girlfriend paying with card at the cashier for 2 people, this after all the cash was collected and handed over to the guy behind the counter hence the fact that there were extra money in the payment.
I also wish not to receive one of the salty and bitter answers the owner posts for bad reviews. Take accountability of a feedback of a customer instead. And enjoy the extra 21.13 euros that you found in the closing settlement.
Not recommended and a big let down.
Update after the owner response: Making split bills is not a favour to your customers. It is a common practice in most of the restaurants. Train properly your team to avoid miscalculations, the mistake WAS NOT from our side, I am sure that if your staff member had found LESS money in the bill he would have told us. In this case MORE money in cash were handed over and guess what? He didn’t reported it. How convenient, right? Your condescending answer is very alarming. You did not have a full house at that moment: in fact there were only 3 tables including us. Don’t play this card then. It is very sad that the management is not able to run properly a business. I am not even the first review mentioning such mess at this restaurant. Learn from your mistakes and be more humble: you guys always sound like your saving the world at you place but reality is that you are serving an overpriced mediocre pizza. Ps Your staff can say we were happy about the food but we were...
Read moreThe Santa Pizza restaurant in Desenzano del Garda is a true hidden gem along the shores of Lake Garda. From the moment you step inside this charming, you're struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the mouthwatering aromas wafting from the kitchen.
The menu at Santa Pizza is a celebration of classic Italian cuisine, with a strong focus on their exceptional pizza creations. Using only the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients, the chefs craft pies that strike the perfect balance between a crisp, chewy crust and flavorful, perfectly-melted toppings. Whether you opt for a traditional Margherita or venture into more creative flavor combinations, every bite is an absolute delight.
But the pizza is just the beginning - the pasta dishes, salads, and other regional specialties are all prepared with the same level of care and attention to detail. The homemade gnocchi in a rich, creamy gorgonzola sauce was a particular standout for me.
Beyond the food, the real charm of Santa Pizza lies in the genuine hospitality
And the setting itself is simply breathtaking - with lakeside views and a lovely outdoor patio, it's the perfect spot to savor a leisurely meal while taking in the stunning natural beauty of...
Read morePleasing atmosphere, but the food was meh at best. Pizza was sloppy, and the prosciutto on top was tasteless - crust was bready and way too thick for the limited amount of toppings on the top. The prosciutto was basic quality - and may have well just been ham from a bad sandwich.
The special pumpkin soup was tasteless. We added salt and pepper and even vinegar to try to get some sort of taste out of the soup, but it was pointless.
Also I’m not a fan of having to use a QR code menu in 2024 - pandemic has been done and over for two years, move forward guys.
Clearly they are catering to a tourist crowd and the staff doesn’t care about personal touches. Staff also seemed a bit tired or worn out and didn’t seem happy to be there.
Again all just meh. Don’t bother eating here if you’ve come all the way to Italy to get a good meal every time you go out. You won’t discover anything new here, and you won’t be excited that you ate here.
You’ll just think, ‘why did I...
