Autogrill — Restaurant in Fiumicino

Visited Jan 2023. Found a café for breakfast. What chaos. They used the system where you tell them what you want and pay at one spot, then take your receipt to another spot to actually get it – and all of this with the Italian queuing system – ie he who pushes in best and shouts loudest gets served first. Ordered toasted ham and cheese sandwich and orange juice and multigrain honey croissant and cappuccino. What we ended up with was a toasted sandwich dark on one side barely toasted on the other, dry and not nice at all. Only ate about 1/3rd. Orange Juice from blood orange which meant it was red colour but was nice but only small (freshly squeezed), A cappuccino (normal small) and ended up with 2 honey croissants (mixup in the food collection part of the system). They were made with multigrain flour and only drizzled in honey but they were nice and not...

I am giving only one star, and that one star goes for the lady with the glasses serving by the till and taking orders. She kindly siggested water too. Then we had to take receipt to another side to collect our order. The guy with the beard did not say anything. Took the receipt. But made the coffee for italian speaking cuctomers who came after us. Then he made cappuccinos in two different cups. I asked if it was large, he said yes. I asked for 2 large ones and these was two different sizes.. He took one, poured with nerves, spilled the coffee, just added milk, spilled coffee on the mug, but did not cleaned it even. So unprofessional!!!...

Unfortunately this small restaurant in the airport made a couple of mistakes. All of the Europeans customers were waited on before me despite my obvious que in line. I had to get up and start to walk away to ensure that they brought me my bill. Terrible service that marred an otherwise wonderful visit to Rome, Italy. Of course you have no way of knowing if it is a protest against being American, of color, not Italian etc., but the fact I have to decipher why I was treated...
