L'Altro Covo — Restaurant in Florence

Cannot say enough great things about this place!!

Our tour guide today was asked what her favorite place to eat was and she noted this place had the best pasta dishes in Florence; I took down the name in case we decided to try it later... Turned out it was very close to our hotel (7 minutes walk) so we decided to try it tonight. It did not disappoint!

The service was amazing, the food was phenomenal, the atmosphere was great, it was all around the best restaurant we have been to to date in Italy! Go and try it for yourself, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

We had prosciutto with artichoke to start, ravioli (3 types) in butter and sage and chitarrone with guanciale and parmesan for our mains and apple pie with ice cream for dessert.

Find your way here and try the fresh made pasta, we will likely be back tomorrow night for...

We are visiting from Winnipeg, Canada. We initially came to this restaurant on a food tour. We loved the food, and we absolutely loved the location- it's off the beaten path.

The service was exceptional. The host took his time talking about different wines and he gave us couple of recommendations, we went with his selection of a regional, Tuscan rosé- it was fantastic!

The owner took his time to go through each and every variety of pasta, and also gave us his recommendations for our main course.

The team was kind, attentive, and went out of their way to make it an incredible experience for our group. This truly was one of the highlights of our time in Florence.

I cannot say enough about this restaurant and the team there, it far exceeded our expectations!

We were in the area to visit SANT AMBROGIO. We happened upon this wonderful restaurant. We were greeted right away and felt welcomed. Lorenzo explained that the pastas are all Made fresh daily. He then showed us the pasta choices and how each is made. I ordered the pasta dish with fresh porcini mushrooms and fresh herbs. The sauce was light and the porcini mushrooms and herbs were so balanced with the pasta . The dish was perfect for lunch. My husband had pasta with an octopus sauce. He really enjoyed each bite. The dessert list was shared. We enjoyed Expresso and chose ZUCCOTTO A MODO NOSTRO for dessert. Wow! So delicious. A combination of cake and ice cream.
