We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Lo Scudo for a bridal portrait session in Florence, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. This charming restaurant nestled in the heart of the city provided the perfect setting for a delightful meal incorporated into our photoshoot.

From the moment we walked in, the staff at Lo Scudo made us feel incredibly welcome. Their warm hospitality and genuine enthusiasm for our special day added a wonderful personal touch to our visit. We used the outdoor table with their amazing view of the of the iconic Piazza del Duomo as our backdrop.

One of the most delightful surprises was the unexpected addition of their house-made pizza. It was a spontaneous treat that perfectly showcased the restaurant’s versatility and commitment to authentic Italian cuisine. The pizza, with its crispy crust and flavorful toppings, was a delicious highlight that added to the joy of the meal.

The staff’s attention to detail and passion for their craft were evident throughout our visit. They not only provided excellent service but also shared stories about the dishes and the traditions behind them, enriching our dining experience.

Lo Scudo played an integral role in making our bridal portrait session in Florence truly memorable. The combination of exquisite food and wine, wonderful ambiance, and exceptional service created a perfect setting for celebrating love and capturing beautiful moments. We wholeheartedly recommend Lo Scudo to anyone looking for an authentic and delightful dining experience...

Lo Scudo Ristorante Firenze promises an authentic dining experience in the heart of Florence. The ambiance exudes a rustic charm, with a warm and inviting interior that boasts exposed brick walls and wooden beams accented by festive decorations offering comfort and tradition.

The meat aging fridge displayed by the entrance serves as an assurance of the quality of the ingredients and an intriguing visual appetizer for the carnivores. The TripAdvisor’s Travelers' Choice sticker further adds credibility to the establishment's reputation.

Inside, the restaurant offers a cozy and intimate setting, with neatly laid tables that beckon for a night of fine dining. The wine selection, as seen from the photos, is extensive, with a variety of bottles that suggest a thoughtful curation to pair with meals, satisfying both casual enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.

The dish showcased—a steak adorned with a sprig of rosemary and resting in a pool of what appears to be a rich, flavorful sauce—promises a culinary delight. The presentation is elegant without being pretentious, aligning with the restaurant's overall vibe.

Finally, the image with the Christmas tree and the view into the kitchen hints at the seasonal festivities and the transparent culinary practices of the restaurant, inviting diners into not just a meal but an experience that is both visually and...

Came here on NYE. I’d been before on a regular day and thought it was decent, but NYE was a huge disappointment.

First, the price was just not even close to worth what we got. 110 euros per person. 5 course meal, but very disappointing foods. Portions were small, bread wasn’t very fresh, pasta was nothing noteworthy, and the worst part is that the main feature— the florentine steak— came almost cold and not rare like it’s supposed to be. They didn’t weigh it in front of us and didn’t ask how we wanted it cooked. It’s supposed to be 1.2 kg, but we’d just had the same amount of steak the night before, and there’s no way this one was more than a kg. It felt grilled, like there was no charcoaled, crispy outside, and flavor was lacking.

Service was also very slow and inattentive. People who came afterward were getting their food first, and we even had to flag someone down just to order our drinks. Also, they try to pack in the restaurant so you’re barely a foot or two away from the next table so it feels crammed and like everyone can hear your conversation. Felt like a huge waste of money. Way better steaks elsewhere and I won’t be...

TL;DR: After being told the lasagna is amazing, it turns out it’s just alright and the coperto/sitting fee is €4 each head, which is definitely on the higher side. I heard from my partner that the carbonara was pretty good. I can’t speak on the steak, so by all means, head over to a different review if that’s what yer planning to have. I had the Lasagna Alla Bolognese, which was fine. Broiled cheese on top of lasagna strips of pasta with meat sauce. Not too shabby, especially when you’re hungry. The bread they gave us was pretty good. Service wasn’t as stellar and warm as some other reviewers say. I got the same experience of being acknowledged after 10 minutes, getting a drink, waiting another 10-15 minutes for a waiter to come by to take our order, and then eventually get the food like anywhere else in Italy. Service certainly wasn’t worth the €4 EACH coperto fee they charged, so beware. Their card reader is also unreliable so we had to shell out cash at the time. Smaller restaurant so prepare to wait during rush hour. I went on a Saturday around 7:30 pm and luckily my two-person party was able to be seated within a couple of minutes.

I came here with my family and we absolutely LOVED this place. It was my favorite meal in Italy and I honestly still dream about it :') First of all, the food was so delicious. We had the mussels and clams dish as an appetizer; even the soup they were soaked in was so flavorful. All of the pasta dishes we had were also so good, but the truffle pasta stood out the most! The truffle pizza was also amazing! I never really understood the hype of truffle dishes but it just tasted so much better here! The bistecca was definitely the star. We had it cooked rare as recommended by our server. I was worried at first since none of us had ever tried rare meat before but it was so tender, we devoured all of it! The service was excellent! The servers were all friendly, kind, and helpful if we had any questions. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's a small restaurant bustling with diners but it wasn't noisy and it had a calming presence. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. It was one of the best meals I've ever had and the staff and atmosphere are so wonderful! I can't wait to go back <3
