I’m not sure if we just had a bad experience and everyone else really is having good food here, but our food was unfortunately very bad. The bruschetta was made with what I suspect was store-bought bread and mealy tomatoes. The olive oil that was at the table had been sitting in the hot sun (our table was outside) and had certainly gone rancid. The tagliolini was almost dry and served over a bed of iceberg lettuce, which seems like a bad decision. It was bland enough that the main taste was somehow the lettuce. The gnocchi wasn’t quite as terrible but was still very underwhelming because it was tougher than it should be, in my experience. I actually had incredible gnocchi the night before I came here at another restaurant which made the issues with it much more apparent.
When we kindly mentioned to the waiter after we had gotten our check that the food wasn’t very good he didn’t seem to know what to do. He apologized but didn’t offer to remake it or take any portion off of our bill (the only thing we ate more than a few bites of was the gnocchi but even that I wasn’t able to finish. I felt bad complaining at first but not after our interaction with the manager. After the server didn’t offer any solution to it and we asked whether we could get the tagliolini and bruschetta taken off the bill he called his manager over and the manager/possibly the owner straight up said no without even looking at us. I wasn’t able to hear all the words that he said but it had the air of “No, the price is the price”. The server offered 30% off the two items we asked to be taken off, which ended up saving us like literally 7 euros out of 54 (final cost was about €47).
Not to mention that all of the plants outside looked really under-cared-for. The only ones that looked okay ended up being fake 😭.
Idk, it was just a terrible experience to have really bad food and then for them to refuse to take much off of the bill. I’d recommend steering clear of this place,...
Read moreThis restaurant straight up sucks. The service was awful but that’s forgivable as long as the food is good, right? Alas, the food was even worse than the service. The olive oil we were given had been left to sit out in the sun and was rancid, bread was store bought slices, the bruschetta was tasteless and made with mealy tomatoes, and the tagliolini with lemon was literally just spaghetti in buttery water with iceberg lettuce??? No flavor, no depth, not even good tagliolini. Not to mention the disgusting taste combination of raw lettuce and wet buttery noodles. When we told our server that the food was terrible (in italian, so not a translation issue!) he just shrugged and stared at us. When we asked that those items be taken off our bill, he called his manager and/or the restaurant owner over and this rude man didn’t even look at us, he just ignored us and told the server no immediately and then walked away. They ended up giving us 30% off two things which only changed our bill by about 5 euros. Upon further investigation after leaving this terrible experience, pics posted here are definitely AI generated and plenty of reviews are written in very formulaic, bot-like styles. I promise you, do not go to this restaurant. They made italian food so bad that I felt the country weep as I took a...
Read moreThis restaurant was a memorable experience in our travels to Florence. Other restaurants in this area are extremely overrun by tourists and it can be difficult to find authentic local cuisine. However, this restaurant was the exact opposite and quite a gem. Our server and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and cordial. The atmosphere was pleasant and cozy as well, it felt as if I was getting a homecooked meal from my nonna. I had the pleasure of indulging in the Greca Salad and my companion ordered the Lasagna and the side of Roasted Potatoes. We both agreed that this was the most delicious meal we had the pleasure to enjoy in Florence. Additionally, while there is much more to rave about in this dining excursion, the handpicked music was an amazing quality of this restaurant's atmosphere. So much so, that I asked for the Spotify playlist, which Menya (our server) kindly offered to me. I can't stress enough that if you make a trip to Florence, please make a stop here for a more than exquisite meal surrounded by amazing...
