My advice: try elsewhere. My girlfriend and I stopped here for a pre-dinner aperitivo. No menu was brought to us on our arrival so we ordered on a whim: one Aperol Spritz and one Campari spritz. A price €6 each, especially given the location by the Duomo, seemed reasonable. However we were also charged €1 each for what was mediocre service and €3 for a 'tris' of peanuts, taralli and crisps. Read moreRandom act of kindness - after having lost my glasses, I walked around Matera for a long time trying to find them. I walked into the Duomo Cafe to find some water as I had walked through the searing heat. Unfortunately I found out that I had no money on me whatsoever.. disappointed in myself I attempted to leave, which is when the kind ladies behind the bar gave me an icecold water for free! But service was terrible. Waitresses are not professional. They make unnecessary jokes with guests and make people uncomfortable. We saw many table who irritated of the waitresses. They work almost with pijamas. They behave like drunk junkies.
