In short: my favourite spot for a quick, delicious, super healthy lunch, on workdays, in the heart of Milan.
Whether you fancy a massive sexy sallad with grilled chicken, or marinated salmon, or their home made super chunky burgers (there's one with octopus!), their super generous and colourful bowls choco-block with veggies, all sorts of fancy rice (Black rice 'riso venere, red rice, etc., and chef-quality pasta dishes (the best cacio e pepe, said from a cacio e pepe addict), super-stuffed club sandwiches, eggs benedict on fragrant bagels - well, you name it and they do it top quality - if you're one who expects to be properly filled-up with beautifuly-presented food, this is the place for you.
I have to give a special mention to their bread too: chunky-cut wholemeal and wholesome bread is served as soon as lunch goers take a seat. It has a wonderfully brown crisp crunchy crust and is super soft inside, and just melts in the mouth - amo il vostro pane!
The staff (Luigi, Tommaso, Francesco and Davide, are those I remember), always great you with a huge heart-felt smile, are always super kind, even on the busiest of days, and you can enjoy a quick pit-stop lunch in-between business meetings, or enjoy a laid back lunch people-watching in their beautifully-set dehor with the large glass sliding doors, hidden just round the corner from Piazza Duomo.
They do wonderful evening aperitivi too - not the plain bits of focaccia and little more, expect to be pleasantly surprised :)
I haven't yet tried their pastries, however each time I am over for lunch, their amazing selection of giant brioches and pastries catch my eye - will have to report back here, once I finally try those too.
And last but not least, let's talk about cakes - they do one of my favourite desserts: the hot chocolate pudding "tortino dal cuore fondente", with a melted chocolate middle center, topped with red berries :)
It's a rare spot combining the priceless quality of traditional Italian cucina twisted with a modern take on international most love food staples, all in one beautifully charming and relaxing spot where you feel welcome whether dressed up for business, shopping or jeans and flip flops!
I hope they...
Read moreMenu at first looked superb. We ordered lasagne, Cesar salad and flavoured water. Water was awesome. Lasagna was fine but very heavy ... Cesar salad is another story. It was full bowl of mix lettuce with few small tomatoes and, some chicken and a lot of cheese. No eggs, no toast and what's more important - no sauce. Any. I need to put a lot of olive oil and balsamic vinegars to eat this... big disappointment.
We also wanted to order a dessert but waiter told us to order them later because otherwise we will receive everything in the same time. Well... that was the first time I heard about that but okay. So we finished our food, waited around 15 minutes for anybody to come to us but with no luck. Some other tables left without service as there was none to take theirs orders. We need to come to the restaurants inside to the cashier to pay for our meal. Of course we left without desserts. Fun part was that I told to the cashier that some table waited and left with no service. What was her response ? "I know":) knowledge is a...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant because it was on. TheFork didn’t get really good reviews but we still decided to give it a go. I must say it was very good. I gave five stars because I feel that restaurant that really try to go out of their way and make things creative and different deserve that !!!! I had the buddah bowl with black rice. I thought it was really well seasoned. We also had the spaghetti grezzo my husband’s not into healthy eating so he didn’t really like the pasta as much. We also had a salad de melons which was also very good. And refreshing and creative not your traditional type of cooking, but very good and healthy The staff tried really hard to help us make decisions, and I think were efficient and answering. The questions that we ask !!!! location was very interesting. You could watch the tram go by and people going back-and-forth...
