Terrazza Aperol is undeniably a tourist hotspot, so don’t expect a quiet or intimate experience. If you arrive late, be prepared to wait in a queue. Fortunately, we got lucky and snagged a spot on a small terrace with a direct view of the stunning Milan Cathedral. This terrace has just two small tables, making it a rare gem if you’re seeking the iconic view.
However, the experience was quickly marred by the endless selfie sessions of other patrons. It’s understandable that the Milan Cathedral is a breathtaking backdrop, but when guests are trying to enjoy a drink, chat, and relax, this behavior becomes disruptive. It would be great if the restaurant implemented some rules to minimize these disturbances. Let people dine in peace without dodging someone’s camera every few minutes.
People should sit where they’re placed instead of running around like chickens chasing their last selfie opportunity. It’s distracting and takes away from the experience for everyone else. If a specific table with a view is what you’re after, make a reservation or better yet, head to a dedicated viewpoint for those Instagram-worthy shots.
As for the drinks and food, the pricing doesn’t quite match the quality. Drinks are overpriced, and while the food is decent, it’s nothing to write home about. Terrazza Aperol may be worth visiting for the view and atmosphere, but don’t expect culinary excellence or tranquility.
The service was okay but nothing special. It’s clear the staff is stressed and in a rush, focused on keeping things moving as quickly as possible.
Overall, this is a place best suited for tourists chasing the quintessential Milan photo, not for those looking for a leisurely or memorable dining experience.
Recommendation to the restaurant: To improve the overall experience, the restaurant should prohibit selfie hunters from disturbing other guests. It would also help to remove a few tables, making the space more open and creating a more relaxed environment. This could transform the chaotic atmosphere into a much more...
Read moreAlthough it has a beautiful view, unfortunately some of the staff are not polite. The people in charge of the place should care about their customers' experience and not simply fill the terrace with a lot of people to a place that can't accommodate them. We were offered a table in the corner of a column that was impossible to eat and enjoy comfortably - after all, you're not just paying for the table, you're visiting the place also for the experience, which should at least be comfortable. When I asked him to find a slightly more comfortable table, he was extremely rude and said I should speak to the receptionist. I then asked him where I should go to speak to the receptionist and he replied that he didn't know, in an extremely rude manner. I went to sit down and he came up to me aggressively saying that he wasn't stupid, so I got up and told him that he should serve people well, because that's what he was there for.
I decided to leave the place because it's not worth the stress, I have a lot of respect for my trips, especially for the memories that will be created on them and what matters most to me are the experiences I end up having during my visits. unfortunately, this is just another place that has its hype on TikTok but needs to teach its staff what it means to serve. After this stressful experience, I went to Terrazza Duomo 21 - excellent reception, happy, extremely friendly staff, I was surprisingly well received and got a very comfortable table in the sun and the view...
Read moreNot worthy coming for the food. The drinks were good. We ordered regular aperol spritz and crodino spritz. Aperol was very average, but crodino was pretty good. We were told we need to order a dish to sit directly by the terrace and once we wanted to order deserts the waiter told us it does not count as a dish. We ended up ordering Caesar salad. Salad and tomatoes were decent, cheese was very good, but sauce ruined everything. I love ceasar salad and I’ve eaten it multiple times, but this one was awful. When I complained this to the waiter they brought us the bottled sauce to show it hasn’t gone bad, which wasn’t the issue. Sauce was very acidic, dull and too salty. When I typed the brand it showed up as the one cheapest sauce possible, so no wonder it’s bad… sad thing it costed 18€ for this. I’m very disappointed and I don’t recommend you ordering it. We ended up paying full price for the dish, because as we were told “I’m sorry, you ordered this and we can’t do anything about it”. As a waiter myself it’s unbelievable how they treated us - guess they only care about the money and not for customers’ satisfaction. Also we had to pay for the appetisers we did not ordered - they brought us them with no previous asking. Wasn’t the best I’ve ever eaten, so beware of it. One plate costs 4€ The view on the Cathedral of Milan was really good. The lactation makes the impression even better than standing in front of the building. Only the crowd makes it a bit worse, but still...
