The food was nice, however our experience was extremely clouded by very poor service. I can see from other reviews that other people had a similar experience.
Our waitress initially gave us Italian menus, then realised we were English and took them away. She never came back with the English menus, a colleague brought them to us after a good 5-10 minutes of us sitting there feeling awkward. We ordered food and she dumped a bag of bread on the table. I asked her for some balsamic and oil to eat the bread with and she came back with another bag of bread which was again dumped on the table. We explained that we wanted balsamic and oil, to which she rolled her eyes at and huffed before going to get. The food came in good time and was lovely (which is where the 2 stars came from for this review). She asked if we would like another bottle of water, to which we said yes, and she placed a bottle of sparkling water on the table, when we had been drinking still before. She left before we could tell her we would like still water, and we were unable to get the attention of any other staff to ask for it to be changed. After the plates were taken, we again were unable to catch a staff member’s attention to ask for the bill, so my partner had to go inside to find someone.
We were unsure whether this waitress was just in a bad mood, however noticed she was laughing and providing much better service to the Italian diners. As I said, the food was very nice. However, we felt so unwelcome due to the poor service, that we will not be returning and would definitely not recommend this place to anyone (especially if you are...
Read moreI was sitting on a nearby terrace when a sudden thunderstorm erupted, and I witnessed something truly shocking. A couple of tourists, clearly just trying to find shelter from the pouring rain, ducked into a small, dusty alcove. Almost immediately, a bald man from Trattoria Fresco stormed out, shouting at them and making aggressive gestures, insisting they leave despite the extreme weather. The scene was uncomfortable for everyone watching—the entire terrace felt the tension and unease.
What struck me most was how unprofessional and hostile his behavior was. A restaurant should be a place of hospitality, especially during unexpected circumstances, yet this man made it clear that compassion and common decency were not priorities. Honestly, someone with such a lack of professionalism and empathy should not be running a business.
It’s especially shocking because the rest of the restaurants in the area are warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly to tourists—after all, they rely on visitors and understand the importance of kindness and hospitality. In contrast, witnessing this incident at Trattoria Fresco left a negative, alarming impression that I won’t forget. It was clear to everyone watching that the couple were polite, respectful tourists, not troublemakers or people looking to cause problems—yet they were treated with...
Read moreSame experience as numerous people here with rude staff. Cant even rate the food because we decided to leave after first 5 minutes based on how waiter behaved. We were not greeted by hello or anything just by water… Yeah the first thing waiter spoke to us was literally one word “water”… Then he came back threw it on the table without a word and also threw menus on the table the way that one ended on my plate and left.. after this experience we decided we dont even want to dine there and I advise everyone to do the same. Go to place next door they are super nice there. We finished water and I asked to pay for it. At least they didnt want to charge us for the water. Then we left. As numerous ratings here said very heavy atmosphere, felt not welcone there and rude...
