We stayed in the old town in Napoli for a week. This place was similarly priced to its neighbors but stood apart in its well prepared food. The only place my wife and I came back for a second time was this place because we had great memories of the good food! Customer service was similar to other neighborhood restaurants: nothing over the top. Inside, it's honestly a bit underwhelming in its decor, but that's perfectly fine. We're not here to be impressed by the tables and walls, we're here for the food :). This place really does feel like one of those 'hole-in-the-wall' places you rave to your friends about once you get back home.
In total we ordered pasta vongole (twice), grilled shrimp, four seasons pizza, and margarita buffalina. Each dish was top tier for it's price. The pizza was very well prepared with a light and fluffy crust and well-cooked, but not burnt base. I've also since had pasta vongole at 3 other restaurants and while each dish is not perfect - Osteria has had the least amount of broken shell and unopened clams when compared to my other experiences. Very yummy!
Wonderful experience, well...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS! I've never had a worse restaurant experience and If I could I would rate it ZERO stars. Seafood pasta was raw not Al dente, most of the clams were closed meaning they were not cooked properly, the prawns were not cleaned on the inside plus they were frozen.... the worst part - after complaining the chef got aggressive and rude. He insisted everything we were served was good and the only reason why we complained was to avoid paying. Trust me - it was terrible and any good restaurant would listen to the customer and not let this lunatic anywhere near the general public. In his words: "If you're not happy you can go to the police and leave me a bad review". Read some of the replies he left on the one star reviews here. Tasteless, childish and...
Read moreWe were on our way to try Sorbillo, and we got scammed by this place haha. Sorbillo had some construction going on and this guy, who was from Atri, specifically lied and told us he was from Sorbillo and that the normal location was closed during construction and that we should follow him to a close by temporary location - THAT BEING SAID - it is definitely a legit establishment and produces a very high quality pizza which was delicious- it just sucks to be scammed. Its too bad the industry is so tough when a place like Sorbillo has people lining up due to social media, and a similar place like Atri doesn’t - you can understand why some...
