Short summary: Not recommended in terms of taste and quality. If you want to fill your stomach, then this place would be suitable.
Visited this joint during a cruise stop over, of course based on the high ratings.
I ordered the Margherita pizza.
The cheese was spread very unevenly across the pizza. It would be good to have the same taste across the entire or most of pizza. But since the cheese is very unevenly distributed, the taste varied across the pizza. At some point of the pizza, there is no cheese at all.
The 6 tiny pieces of basil is just thrown onto the pizza. I can understand the basil is not the main flavor contributor to the pizza but just not a good look. The basil didn't contribute to the taste at all.
Onto the pizza dough. Only the edge of the crust is crunchy. The dough in the other part of the pizza is soggy. Not for my taste.
Overall, the pizza is a let down. The pizza should at least consistent in...
Read moreMy family of 5 (Italy Newbies from New York) stopped at Pizzeria Vesuviana on our way to Napoli Centrale station for our trip back to Rome after a day at Pompeii and Naples. We were in a rush and ordered 2 pizzas and some drinks. We were seated quickly, the service was fast, food was great, and the location was very convenient (~10 min walk to station). We all had a great experience! To truly top things off on great service, they saved us from a serious issue when we accidentally left a copy of a train ticket sitting on the table as we rushed off to catch our train. One employee chased us down on a scooter to return the ticket just as we arrived at the station. We would have been in some trouble without it. Many thanks to Vesuviana! We will certainly return the next time we are in Napoli. They...
Read moreVisited here after our trip to Pompei, and it was a true delight. I read in one of the previous reviews that they were afraid for their lives on the road outside and I couldn't agree more. My recommendation is to directly cross the road from the train station and arrive here. And similar to another review don't be mistaken by the appearance from outside, inside there is a cozy seating and a decent toilet.
The food, I mean the pizza, is the best pizza I have had in my life! The classic margarita for 4,50€ is worth at least 15€ in Germany and they still won't nail the quality they have here. The pizzeria is a family business and the staff is warm, welcoming and kind. You should also check out their Instagram it's a fun...
