I visited Morettino Caffè a few weeks ago with my friend who had just recently moved to Sicily. We were greeted by Sara who proceeded to serve us for the hour we were there. Sara would turn out be one of the most lovely people I have ever had had the pleasure of being served by. Speaking to me in English while also conversing with my friend in Italian, Sara made us feel very welcome to the point complimenting my friend for her Italian while also giving us advice on what to order.

We proceeded to order a beautiful Chardonnay along with one of the nicest cheesecakes (pistaccio) I will ever have the pleasure on eating. Having just arrived into Palermo looking for somewhere to sit down, little did we know that we would be arriving into one of the highlights of our trip. Due to the beautiful wine, the gorgeous cheesecake and the ever-so charming...

The whole experience was confusing. I ordered an iced freddo, with oat milk and then advised I could take a seat. I sat outside. The staff were confused and looked baffled, approached me outside and said what would you like? I replied and said I’ve literally just ordered inside. She said no sorry u have to order again; then she went back inside, then came back out and said the machine isn’t working now. Honestly I have no clue what was going on so after faffing around strangely and seeming extremely confused I was brought out a coffee in a coffee up and advised it was cold inside. This place was a joke. Disorganised, confusing and poor service. I also had a panini which was poor quality with zero taste. Do not recommend and won’t...

Overall, a nice spot in a great location. We stopped by for breakfast, which was perfectly fine – nothing exceptional or surprising, just decent and well-prepared.

A downside for me was the typically Italian approach to coffee. I wanted to order an Americano using their specialty beans, but was told I couldn’t because those beans were considered “too special.” In Poland, most cafés proudly use beans from small specialty roasters that produce excellent coffee, and they’re happy to prepare it however you like.

It’s a shame I couldn’t enjoy a proper cup made from high-quality beans – instead, I had to settle for an Americano with standard coffee because “that’s not...

We had an absolutely delicious brunch whilst in Palermo. It was one of the most expensive breakfasts we’ve had in Italy, but it was worth it. It has a great location, right next to Fontana Pretoria and Quattro Canti. We particularly loved the pancakes and sfince Siciliani with pistachio cream! They have an amazing selection of organic and speciality coffees (expensive but delicious). The service was extremely friendly and they have a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with very comfortable chairs, perfect after a long day of sight seeing. I would definitely recommend this cafe!
