Very popular restaurant- quite busy from the time it opened for dinner, so reservations recommended. Our waiter was great. Passable English, lots of suggestions re what to try- the menu has quite a few authentic Sicilian choices. Unfortunately, the food was not great. There were 3 of us. One was celiac so legitimately gluten intolerant. The waiter recommended the House appetizer plate as he said there was no bread or pasta, but half the ingredients were breaded or had a bread stuffing, so not a good choice. I know the use of olive oil is very common, but there was a lot of it in this dish. The best item on the plate was an eggplant ratatouille- everything else was rather saturated and not very flavourful. As a gluten free option, the waiter suggested the veal steak. My friend asked for it to be served with just a salad. The salad was shredded iceberg lettuce and very little else. She said the veal, which was thin (it was cooked medium well, as she wanted, but it made the meat pretty tough), tasted like liver and she had maybe 2 bites. My carbonara pasta was super salty, and swimming in an egg-y sauce- I ate less than half of it. The other friend had an eggplant pasta that she quite liked, and ate it all. We had half a carafe of the House white wine, which was ok. Prices are very reasonable, but the food is definitely hit or miss. I don’t think we would...

Read moreCame here with extremely high expectations given the 5-stars reviews. Service - We were received with a couple of waiters who were very hasty when we asked if we could sit at a table inside and then we got the menus dumped on the table. Apart from this one young man whose name unfortunately we were to shy to ask for everyone else gave us the feeling like we were bothering. We kept saying thank you as you would expect but the attitude seems to be a general thing. Food - Arrived pretty quickly though we were anticipating a bit of a waiting time considering it got really busy right after we arrived. I was craving some carbonara and given the place is advertised as a family-run trattoria, I was expecting some of the best carbonara there is. Both our pasta dishes felt rushed and lacked real flavour. The antipasti was indeed delicious, couldn’t praise it enough. I can only imagine that being a Saturday evening at peak dinner time food had to be prepared really fast. We would have given it another try should we have had more time, perhaps for lunch time or a time when it wouldn’t have...
