Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience
I recently visited this coffee shop across the street from the Leaning Tower of Pisa during a quick stop with a travel group. Unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable.
From the moment I walked in, the workers' expressions were uninviting, making me feel unwelcome. I ordered three gelatos, a Negroni, a pastry, and a coffee, and waited over 15 minutes for my order. Once we finally received our items, we stepped outside where some of our group members were seated. We stood nearby, not taking any seats, when a heavyset woman came rushing out and yelled at us to leave, claiming we paid for takeaway and not for seating.
Her tone was rude and condescending, and her behavior escalated when she physically pushed me away. I was shocked and humiliated. Additionally, the atmosphere outside the shop felt uncomfortable, with people aggressively selling items and asking for money directly in front of the store.
It was clear the staff lacked basic customer service skills, professionalism, and respect for diversity. As a person of color traveling with my sister and a friend, we felt we were treated unfairly and poorly.
I would strongly discourage anyone—especially travelers or people of color—from visiting this establishment. There are far better and friendlier places to grab a bite near this...
Read moreThe cafeteria is looking right to the Pisa Tower so it's the best place to have a coffee at and enjoy the view. The store itself has quite a varied amount of snacks to choose from, such as canolis, tiramisu, coffee, baguettes, ciappatas, donuts and such. The waitresses are a bit rough as they don't seem to be enjoying their work, and they are too aloof or disinterested, however once you order their response time is good. The tiramisu was amazing, fresh, soft and delicious. The chocolate donut and the Latte Macchiato was great as well. The prices were a bit high, but considering the place and the view it's actually on the reserved side. Now the toilet is a pain point for this place, all customers want to use it and there's only one for both genders, and it's only opening with a valid receipt that has a barcode. The cleanliness of course is a problem as the turnaround is so fast there is no time to be cleaned and it's an issue. There is always a line on the counter because of the amount of tourists visiting, but if there is time to sit and enjoy, without caring much about the logistics of it, let's say you paid already and you are not in dire need of a bathroom, this is a great place to enjoy, with good selection of food and drinks and kind of ok prices. Get an aperol or something, pose with your cup with the Tower in...
Read moreI wish that it was possibly to give this place no stars. The staff was awful! They could not communicate between each other and messed up our order not once, but three times . When we politely told her of our real order, she started slamming things around and was very nasty. She finally gave us our final coffee, after 15 minutes of waiting, and told my grandmother not to come back in Italian. Ironically, my grandmother speaks and understands Italian and told her that we surely will not be visiting again.
Not only was the service awful, but the bathroom was disgusting and honestly a port a potty is much cleaner than that scummy bathroom. Not to mention that you needed your receipt to scan to enter not one,but both doors on the bathroom.
0/10 experience!...
