Ristorante Pizzeria Duomo: A Disappointing Culinary Experience
Ristorante Pizzeria Duomo may appear to be a charming dining establishment at first glance, boasting a clean and inviting ambiance with comfortable seating. However, my recent visit left me rather disheartened due to a number of significant shortcomings. While the restaurant excels in terms of its aesthetics and seating, its high prices, lackluster taste, and underwhelming food quality were prominent issues that overshadowed the positives.
One of the most glaring drawbacks of Ristorante Pizzeria Duomo is its pricing. The menu features prices that seem to defy reason. Diners can expect to pay a premium for their meal, and unfortunately, this high cost is not justified by the quality of the food. It's clear that the management is attempting to capitalize on the restaurant's charming atmosphere, but this comes at the expense of offering good value for customers.
Now, onto the heart of the matter – the food. I ordered a pizza with chicken as a topping, and what was served to me was nothing short of disappointing. The chicken on the pizza appeared to be aged and reheated, giving it a chewy and unappetizing texture. It left me with the impression that the ingredients may have been reused from the night before, which is unacceptable in a restaurant of this caliber. The taste of the pizza was also underwhelming, lacking the freshness and flavor one expects from an Italian pizzeria.
In terms of culinary experiences, Ristorante Pizzeria Duomo falls short of delivering the satisfaction one would hope for. The flavor profile of the dishes simply does not live up to the reputation of an Italian pizzeria, leaving diners feeling let down.
To its credit, the restaurant does maintain a high standard when it comes to cleanliness and the overall dining environment. The decor and comfortable seating arrangements do create a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, making it a suitable choice for those who prioritize ambiance.
In conclusion, while Ristorante Pizzeria Duomo shines in terms of cleanliness and the ambiance it offers, these merits are overshadowed by significant drawbacks. The exorbitant prices, poor food quality, and unimpressive taste of the dishes leave much to be desired. Read moreI am writing to let visitors to Duomo know about this restaurant. Just don't go here! If your tour guide says this is the only place say "I'm not hungry" and leave! An absolute tourist trap. No locals eat here, just for unfortunate tourists. This experience was a disaster from start to finish. We tried to have lunch with 7 people and we want an AC area. They seat us in the back and nobody to attend us. Later a woman comes and we give her the order and ask 2 pizzas, an appetizer toscan for 7, plus 2 main dishes, and spaghetti for the kids but the 2 kids say that only want french fries, so we cancel the appetizer for 7 and change to 2 pizzas, 2 french fries and 2 main dishes, so she feels our order was too small. She starts to scream us "no antipasti?, no bruchetas? no caprese?". You need to order more, you need to order more. She was very impatient. Finally, I stand up and say "we cancel, we don't want to ear here". She was very very very angry and say "the order is already sent to the kitchen, you need to seat or pay", She was extremely rude and didn't lets us go, and I screamed to her lets us go, we don't want to eat. At that moment she starts to insult us in Italian and call the chef, busboys, attendant, and everybody, and REALLY want to kick us. The chef's very very dirty smoking also feels very disgusting. We insist that we want to leave, we have 2 kids there, and they literally want to kick us, and 10 people there screaming at us. Everybody looks this, the insults in the Italian language, the threat, 10 people there kicking us out and pushing us when we were already at the door. We didn't want to do anything because you know, is Italy, they can say any fake info and we just want to leave and avoid this place.
Avoid this place, is a tourist trap, is the worst. Never in my life, I have never been insulted soo much, even my kids. After reading more reviews I feel happy we didn't eat there because everybody says the food is also extremely bad, and I'm not the first person that happen this.
Finally, we ate outside the complex, have more than 30 restaurants, all very good, and cheaper. Don't fall...
Read moreHorrible, Aggressive and very rude staff! The waiter yelled and spat in our faces just because my child used the restroom while we sat to order our food, but later realized we didnt have time. I was checking the train booking options while my family were looking at the menu. My son really had to go so I told my husband to take him to the bathroom, while I ordered the food and booked our train tickets. Once they came back from the bathroom I quickly told my famiily, " guys we need to run, especially since we have a cruise to catch" So we left, these guys were UNBELIEVABLE, they ran after us yellliiingg soo angry, my husband stayed calm the whole time and asked them ok what do want from us but they just kept screaming in italian from what seemed to be " Only guests can use the bathroom" I tried to explain but they were so rude and uncooperative so we just left and then this one waiter came running from the back saying SHAME ON YOU. Im like what! TBH the moment I stepped into the restaurant and old waiter, maybe the owner was smirking at me and telling to take my bag of the table, How RUDE, instead of being welcoming and asking me of I needed help. Im a Hijabi, so I got racist vibes from him dunno it was weird, he was the same guy that yelled and spat at my face, ignored my whole family and focused on me, I sense judgement and racism. I let them know before I left, I hope Im wrong but thats how I felt, the audacity to say to mee shame on you! Bcz my child has to use the loo!! We would never treat guests the way they did in my country, I felt very insulted...
