Sure, it's a tourist trap (in the best way possible), but it's a rite of passage if it's your first time in Rome. To start: We had an amazing table in the front patio facing the piazza and the Panthenon. Throughout the night, many buskers played beautiful music and of course the people watching was top notch. Our wonderful servers, Elio and Roberto, took amazing care of us. Their hospitality and warmth was one of our highlights during our visit to Rome - it's these moments that can truly make your holiday special.
On to the food: I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food given where we were seated. We enjoyed a wonderful wine that was recommended by Elio, pizza, salad, and dessert - not to mention an additional complimentary dessert that was the perfect way to end the night. Pricing was very fair considering the ambiance - Since I see other reviews mentioning this, they did ask for a tip, mentioned it was optional, and we even added an additional tip.
If you are looking for a nearby eat that has the best mix of locale, ambiance, flavors, service, and pricing - look no further - and ask for Elio...

The view is priceless alone, where else can you eat in a setting such satturated with history and culture ? We came here 3 times in our short Visit to Rome (2Days). Service was allways very nice, humorous and personal. They did not object to sitting us just for Drinks even durining lunch hour.
The food was amazing, we had pizza and pasta, both on the very top I ever had in my life.
Some Kind of a personal Note : some Reviews mention some kind of scamming practice which I did not see at all - all prices were as advertised on the Menu ! No Service Charge on the Bill!
A lot of people complain about the prices : we are talking about the centre of Rome, with direct view on one of the most historic sites in the world. Yet pricing for food is 12€ for a pizza, 12€ for a Huge 1L Bier. (Thats more than 2pints for my fellow americans) Cocktails are a little less value for the money but very good which makes up for it. There is a MCDonalds 5min away if that seems like a...
Read moreA few years back I had the privilege of spending 10 days in Rome over Christmas. Since the day I stumbled across this restaurant, I would come back every day, sometime couple of times a day. The food was always great, the coffee, the wine, champagne, the location is amazing. Imagine a warm winter sunset in Rome with the sky filled with pinkish, orange, purple and blue hues turning to a star filled night. People smiling and talking as they walk by, children playing in the streets but what really made this place so special are the people. I had the honour of meeting the owners and they were nothing but amazing to me (a total stranger) and Salvatore. Just a beautiful gentlemen that not only took pride in his work but made you feel like a king. I could have been Cary Grant in one of those old classic movies. I was made to feel like a friend, like family during my stay in Rome and my visits there. My next time in Rome I know where I'll be heading to....
