Pizza Bona, nestled in Rome's historic Jewish Ghetto, is a hidden gem that serves outstanding authentic cuisine. Their diverse menu shines with an impressive selection of pizzas - from the classic Margherita with superb mozzarella to my personal favorite, the salmon pizza. They even offer delicious cheese-free options that will surprise you with their flavor.
What makes this place special is not just the food, but also the warmth of the staff, particularly Miryam. She serves the local students with incredible patience and genuine care. The bustling atmosphere speaks volumes about the quality - you'll see people enjoying everything from crispy crocchette to fresh salads and perfectly cooked pasta dishes.
The restaurant offers convenient takeaway boxes filled with their delicacies - perfect for enjoying in one of the charming corners of the neighborhood on a sunny day. While the staff works tirelessly managing the constant flow of pizza deliveries, they maintain their friendly demeanor.
If you're looking for what might be the best pizza in Rome, along with an authentic local experience, Pizza Bona is a must-visit. Special thanks to Miryam and the entire team for their welcoming smiles and...
Read moreWe came to jewish quarters to show support to jewish people in this difficult time. Visited both museums and Synagogue. And at the end we were horribly ripped off in this pizza place. It spoiled completely our experience of jewish quarters unfortunately. To the owners: Don't you understand that you represent jewish people also to the tourists that visit there? Shame on you!!! To people visiting I would say: Don't go there!!!!! They rip off the tourists!!!! Mediocre tourist quality pizza slices for extremely high prices. It must be the most expensive pizza shop in the whole Italy!!! Paid 27 euros for a few tiny slices of pizza with no drinks. Which would normally cost 5-7 euros in a real good Italian pizza shop. Pizza was ok , tourists mediocre quality, topping was good but base soaked with oil. Anyway after I paid for 4 little slices 24 euros it was stuck in my throat and I didn't feel like eating any more. The place looks like a cheap pizza hut but they charge you as if it was a fancy restaurant. No menu or prices were the day we visited so they were able to rip us off!!!!! Worst experience ever! Spoiled my impression about jewish quarters!!!!!!...
Read moreUnfortunate experience of tourist scam. Although the pizza tasted good, they destroy everything with cheating people and over-charging pizzas at 29 euros per kilogram. After you ask them to clarify the prices, they start to say that pricelist on the wall is not updated (although by law this is not prohibited). My advice is to order pizzas and before paying say that the bill should be calculated based on the prices on the wall. If they do not accept, walk!
Locals pay pennies for the slice of pizza that tourists get for euros. Even the original prices on the wall are high, but this you can accept for the taste. 29 euro scam is just bad experience which creates these bad memories. Most people adding high reviews most probably even did not realize that they were scammed. The whole pizza cutting and weighting act is built to draw your attention away from numbers on the scale and prices...
