Café Gourmet — Restaurant in Rome

We ended up here after trying to go to a restaurant that didn't work out for us. We passed this along the way, noticed the crowds, and decided to come back. And we were so glad we did!

This place is just precious. It has lots of quirky decorations. It's ran by just four employees who are quite the characters. They are all very sweet and were patient with our minimal Italia. The two that communicated with us spoke a descent amount of English, but not as much as what you'd find in more touristy areas.

I had the mushroom risotto which I still dream about (a year later). Mh had the eggplant parmigiana which was also good but not as yummy as my risotto.

We continued to hand out while I drank my wine and mh decided to order a meat and cheese board. It came with four different combos of brea, meat and cheese. All four were great and you got two of each. It felt very fresh and of high quality

I came to this cute cafe to use WiFi and get my bearings figured out as this is my first time in Italy with my family. We had just flown in from Detroit, MI & have all been up for 24 hours.. In the midst of having a nervous breakdown because I was having major problems with checking into my Airbnb which is around the corner, the server came over and asked if she could help me at all. She was kind enough to give me her phone to use, and when that didn't help, she went to the Airbnb and got a hold of the host for me! She made sure we had everything figured out before we left. A bar restaurant with a nice ambiance. The decoration is nice, mainly made of wooden furniture and items. The staff is friendly and we really like the background sound of the cook singing in Italian from the kitchen. However we found the music coming from the speaker a bit too loud for an afternoon in this kind of place. And overall the beer (33cl regular blond beer) at 7€ is way overpriced.
