Honestly the worst Italian food we had in Italy. We asked for oil and balsamic vinegar with our bread and they looked at us like we asked for something exotic and then gave a table of four, 3 little sachets of balsamic vinegar. All the meals for 4 people at our table were subpar. Tasteless and unbalanced flavors. The seafood dishes had plenty of seafood in them but the risotto was tasteless, the linguini was bland. The carbonara was the worst we ever had and could make it a hundred times better at home. The lasagna was probably the best off all the dishes but even that was just ok. The chef came out to ask how the meal was but literally turned away before we had a chance to say anything. We did eat most of our food as we were starving, having just driven 6 hours from Venice, but it was underwhelming food. Other Italian tables got lemoncello at the end but we didn’t get anything. That’s racist!!! This is our experience and according to Google policy, this is what we are reviewing. We do not recommend this restaurant for anyone. In Rome, the land of amazing Italian food, please choose somewhere else and have a fantastic meal. You will not...
Read moreA wonderful family restaurant with delicious food and kind owners! The atmosphere is homey and warm, with everyone greeting you with a smile. We sat outside, but definitely take a look inside at the open kitchen where the chef is preparing all the yummy foods. They also speak both English and Italian.
Their menu is extensive, but my favorite was the tonnarelli alle vongole veraci (tonnarelli with clams). I loved the chili pepper flakes in it so much that I asked for the brand and the kind owners gave me an entire bag! I was speechless with gratitude, and when I asked to take a picture with the chef, he agreed with open arms!
Thank you Laura and Tiziano for a wonderful experience! It was the highlight of my whole trip!
Bonus: Sfiziarte is also located right next to my favorite gelato place, Fattore Gelato Roma! The lady who works there is so sweet, and the pistachio gelato is the best...
Read moreFood and atmosphere were ok. The caprese salad was awesome, although it was "deconstructed," meaning we had to cut up the bufala mozzarella ourselves and assemble each bite (mozzarella + tomato + basil). But the ingredients were very fresh and delicious! We got the "chef's choice" meal which is 3 items they select for us. It was a mini lasagna + potatoes + salmon. The lasagna (I hope I am calling it the right thing. It was like a fat noodle with meat inside) was the best part. Really yummy! The potatoes were pretty plain. The salmon was moist and not overcooked, but a bit standard. Crispy on the outside though — not bad. The limoncello spritz was yummy. The staff were friendly. The lighting inside was bright (which I wish was a little dimmer). It was neat to be able to see the people at work in the kitchen behind a clear glass wall. The bathroom was clean and...
