Absolutely AWEFUL SERVICE and to top.it off I got FOOD POISONING. We went here just recently when we were in Rome. We wanted to get some gelato because it was really hot out and we skipped breakfast that morning. A couple waiting at the gelato case told us we had to pay first over at a little stand by the door. We went over there and the girl sitting there was too busy talking with another employee who might have been the manager or a supervisor (younger girl with long black hair). They totally ignored us until we actually had to interrupt their conversation. Then she acted as though we were disturbing her. We paid and went back over to order, but they had the girl whonwas suppose to be taking care of the gelato section also making drinks. She seemed to be super busy with drinks so we waited for a while as did the couple that was there still from when we first came in. Finally we got served but the girl who we went tonpay at the stand had entered the wrong size for one of the orders. Anyways we finally got served and this poor bartender/gelato girl was being overworked while the other two did next to nothing but text on their phones. A few hours later I got all the signs of food poisoning and hadnt eaten anything else. Spent the evening and most of the next day in bed or in the bathroom sick. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, nothing...

This place is a gold mine. I've been here a few times and It's always heaving. Coaches and taxis can park right outside, and unload the sheeple straight into the queue. I'd be amazed if there wasn't a bonus for the drivers concerned. And with it being so handy for St Peter's Square it's location is perfect, and definitely premium. But you know, when its 33°+ outside, the aircon and chilled bottled water inside are priceless.
It's cafeteria service food. Quality is OK. You basically point at the serving pan of your choice and you get your lasagne, spaghetti etc served to you. 3* for the food. 2* for value. The coffee is excellent though.
I don't think there's a lot of alternative places in the area, so it's Hobson's choice.
There are free public water fountains in the Square and the water is delicious. Cold, fresh springwater. Bring your empty bottle. Don't buy from the various vans/stalls around the edge of the square. Even more of a Rip off. Hey! It's Roma!...
Read moreThis place look for me that customers ( 100% tourists) are treated like stupids who could take our money for cheap and not quality food. On top of that only rude and old guys served behind the counter giving the very little possible food for our money. We had to stop there because the restaurant because we were starving after spend 6 hours in the Vatican museums and San pietro basilica, and because looks clean and comfortable , obviously, getting tons of money in CASH , not credit cards are accepted in a place for so unacceptable treat and quality food. All the staff is hunting your euros, at the bathroom there is a woman hunting your tip in a such an expensive place ?? Terrible in my opinion. We paid 26 euros in cash , for not declare fair taxes, I think, for two small spinach and cheese wrap an two 8 onz of fountain coke !! Terrible. I had a pic and Iâd like to share in this post if is possible....
