I chose this place on the Piazza above all others based on their google reviews. We were not disappointed.
We were greeted enthusiastically, and the friendly ambiance continued throughout our dining experience.
The servers working the piazza were friendly, energetic, and while not conversational I heard them exchange pleasantries in at least 4 languages. I felt that made each customer a little more at ease when communications were not smooth.
We came for a late afternoon snack. I had the Aperol and the snacks were lovely. I received peanuts and potato chips with my first, and olives and more chips with my second. The bottled lemonade was also very good.
We ordered one tomato bruschetta and one prosciutto bruschetta. Each plate came with 2 pieces each so my son and I could swap and have one of each. They were wonderful! We finished with lemon gelato that was perfect in the hot weather!!
While the food was excellent I think the thing we will take away from Ai Tre Tartufi is the wonderful staff who made the experience of sitting in Piazza Navona one of our most treasured...
Read moreAlthough located in a touristy part of Rome, Ai Tre Tartufi is not your typical tourist restaurant. The staff here are extremely welcoming and make an effort to get to know their clientele. Angelo, the manager, greeted us as if we were regulars, making my 9 year old very comfortable.
The food is fair in pricing and very good. For our first visit we ordered gelatos and caffe. We were given complimentary chips upon ordering. The atmosphere was so great that we returned for dinner enjoining their white lasagna, lasagna bolognese, cacio e pepe, and lentil soup. Ingredients tasted fresh and portions were perfect. We were provide complimentary cafes and limoncello for retuning. Loved that.
Surrounding us were italian speaking customers, we assume non-tourists as we visited in early November (low season). You can’t get a better view of Piazza Navona as this restaurant faces the Fountain of the Four Rivers. Our kids were free to roam the piazza as we finished our meal.
Special thanks to Angelo, Kevin and our first waiter (don’t catch his name) for making our first day in...
Read moreI went there with my two siblings and we wanted ice cream they told us that we couldn't get only one ice cream we had to take a cup with 3 spheres every cup makes 12€. So we thought everyone has to take a cup because the waiter said one ice cream is not possible to take.... At the and me and my older sister took an coffee (1 coffee costs 8€). My little brother took also an dessert for 9€ we thought it would be big pieces but it was too small. I know that I have seen the prices and I could calculate one to another but I didn't expect that it would be soo expensive. At least in my opinion its way to expensive and not worth, an trap for tourists.... I don't know how they create their prices but the coffee water wasn't made of gold ( it's only expensive because in the near is a fountain, I would also like to add that I travel very much but I have never drunk a...
