If you live in Rome or are visiting Rome you must try this restaurant. My wife and I were visiting and wanted to try some good local Italian food. This was the best meal I have ever had, period. We had one of their specials which was like a potato flan, but tasted like a super large baked noodle with exceptional cheese sauce. Their Mediterranean Salad had the freshest ingredients I have ever seen in a salad. I ordered the Beef Ragu lasagna which was fantastic! My wife ordered the Polpette Cacio De Peppe which were a special. These were meatballs in a parmessan black pepper sauce. We also wanted to order a bottle of wine and they were out of the one we wanted. But, they suggested another that was fantastic! They know their wines here and have an extensive menu of great Italian wines. Because my dinner was so good, I had to try a dessert and decided on the Strawberry Cheese Cake. Best cheesecake I've ever had. It's not dense in texture, but rather fluffy, with the freshest strawberries. They also treated us to a couple of shots of Limoncello which was a pleasant surprise. This place is owned by a couple of brothers and we were lucky enough to meet them and they are so friendly and welcoming. Also, the atmosphere is amazing. We will be...
Read moreI arrived just before 7pm for dinner and there were 2 other tables. They seemed like a quiet neighborhood place. But it was full by the time we left. If you don’t have a reservation I would say go to dinner at tourist timings to be safe if you intend to do as the locals make a booking. We ordered the sea bass tartare and a potato gratin for antipasti, the lasagna and rigatoni allá matriciana for primo and the rosemary caramel panna cotta and chocolate torte for the dessert. The place gives pretty retro and rustic vibes and the menu is very classic with some interesting twists. The service is amazing with one front of house running the whole show, he never missed an order, he provided casual banter and made us feel comfortable with silly one liners. The quality of the food was great everything came out in a timely manner, well plated and tasty! The olive oil on the table was also top notch and I only realized how premium it was when I was in the airport and saw it in the gift shop. One of the best dining experiences we...
Read moreEasily the best meal I have had in Rome. After seeing other reviews and trying their food, I do not understand how this place was not packed. The restaurant has a nice quiet, cozy ambience. The service from the owner was amazing. I took the servers recommendations, which were the 36 month aged Parma ham with buffalo mozzarella, and the amatriciana. The ham and mozzarella were both extremely high quality, and were an absolute treat. The amatriciana is the single best dish I have had while in Italy. Dishes here were very fairly priced here. They charge €3 for bread for the table, but no cover fee per person, so I take that as a win. When it came time to pay the bill, I accidentally gave €5 less and after trying to give the correct amount, I was told that it is okay and he was just happy that we enjoyed our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those looking to avoid tourist traps around the colosseum. I do not have a single bad word about this restaurant....
