Disappointing Experience Despite High Expectations
As a professional tour guide working with large groups in Turkish, Greek, Spanish, and English, I rarely write reviews—only when an experience is truly exceptional, whether in a positive or negative way.
Today, my wife and I visited this restaurant in Rome as part of our culinary trip. I work in tourism, organizing VIP services for clients from Spain, Turkey, Greece, and the UK. We came not only to enjoy a good meal but also to evaluate this venue as a potential recommendation for future clients and possible collaboration.
Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing:
My wife ordered a burrata salad, but the waiter misunderstood. When she politely corrected him, he became defensive and insisted that we had to pay for both salads, even though the mistake clearly wasn’t hers.
I received a pasta dish that had a long hair in it. When I quietly and respectfully mentioned it, the waiter started asking detailed questions as if trying to shift the blame, rather than simply acknowledging the issue.
A woman—possibly the owner—came to the table, but instead of apologizing or offering a replacement immediately, she just asked if we wanted something else. We kindly requested a new dish, but the wait was long, even though there were only two other occupied tables.
Finally, the bill was incorrect, the change was short, and we were still charged for the pasta that had the hair in it.
Mistakes can happen anywhere—that’s not the problem. What truly matters is how such situations are handled. Unfortunately, the staff seemed overwhelmed or undertrained, and the management showed no real interest in resolving the issue or supporting their team professionally.
I don’t enjoy leaving negative feedback, but I wouldn’t recommend this place—especially to fellow professionals in tourism or...
Read moreWe decided to spend New Year's Eve at Come 'na Vorta Pasta e Vino Osteria and have a cozy evening meal because, according to recommendations, eating in Trastevere should be a culinary experience.
The reservation via Whatsapp worked quite well and you also had to pay a deposit of €15 per person, which is understandable on that evening.
We were informed that dinner a lá carte would be served in shifts and we booked the first shift from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
We arrived on time, were greeted by a blonde lady who poured us champagne in plastic cups and we were seated at the table.
Our waiter (bald and slightly dark-skinned) was very polite and accommodating but then the misery began. He was so pushy and impatient. We ordered the fried artichoke and the warm focaccia as a starter. I was still eating the starter and within 5 minutes he came over a dozen times to ask if he could take the plate with him and that was the case with the main course and the dessert.
I know that he has to look at the clock during shifts and to ensure that the food is served warm, but there was not even 5 minutes between courses to digest the food. Terrible!
It was 8:34 p.m. and he basically indicated to us that we had to pay and leave, even though our shift lasted until 9 p.m. When we complained to the restaurant manager, we found out from another couple that they had the same problem and would stay until 9 p.m. in protest.
The food was really delicious and the Osteria had a great atmosphere, but putting pressure on the guests is a gastronomic no-go and especially if you have to stuff the food in and ruins the whole impression. I'm...

The food was great, we really enjoyed it.
The atmosphere was good, the waiter Mimo was very nice. the only downside was a lot of noise, which makes sense to me since the place is big and it had a lot of customers (if you want quiet place, it may not be the place for you)
In bottom line, book a table in advance, Ill explain: The reason behind the 3/5 in service is that on entering the restaurant the lady that invited us in told us that we will wait 2 minutes. maybe she just said it metaphorically, and maybe she lied, i don't know. she was very nice, but when we asked for time estimate on entering the restaurant it she made a "face" (looks like she expected us to understand the times). we was at the start of the line (and i don't mean metaphorically) for at least 25~30 minutes (which is ok, because the restaurant has lots of customers). The lady told people behind us that the waiting time is 5 minutes (again, possibley a lie, possibly metaphorically, and possibly a mistake). Also lots of people passed on us and didn't wait in the line, some of them stood in another line, i dont know if it's because they booked a table, or if there is some different between the waiting lines. In the end in my opinion the food was definitely worth it. If the restaurant reads it, please make sure that you give your customers a better time estimation, since we almost choose to leave the line amd go eat somewhere else, and we would have...
