I don't know why this place is receiving so many good reviews. I was there with my partner earlier this evening, mostly because of the reviews, and was very dissapointed. Firstly we were seated in between two tables of two, the tables were so close together that it looked like the tables were laid out for 6, other tables were available. Although it turned out the couple sitting next to us were friendly and were also experiencing disappointment. We ordered mozzarella balls and 'chicken croquettes', the chicken croquettes being really just fried from frozen chicken nuggets. The mozzarella balls also seemed as though they were fried from frozen. These came with no sauce and when I asked, I was handed sachets of ketchup and mayonaise. They seemed to mainly have pizzas on their menu, coming in different variations. My partner ordered a monstruoso calzone which had no internal sauce or any poured over the top, when cutting into it grease came pouring out, quite disgusting and unapatizing. I had a napoli pizza which was okay but could find better in my home country of Scotland. I would not recommend anyone visiting Rome to try this restaurant as it will not meet your expectations of dining in Italy. My partner and I have eaten out every night we've been here nearly 2 weeks and this was the only bad experience we've...

Saw all the good reviews on this place and figured we’d give it a try. Overall it wasn’t a good experience. We’re going on our second week in Italy and this was probably the worst dinner we’ve had so far. We didn’t have super high expectations, but still we’re very disappointed. The bruschetta (simplice) was just an over toasted piece of bread, drench in olive oil and garlic powder. I was hoping for a little better garlic and it looked pretty depressing. Our service was just absolutely awful. Our server wasn’t rude at all, just never came to check on us, served other tables first that were seated later, forgot my beer, and all throughout we couldn’t get her attention. It could’ve been our table placement, but we were near the servers computer and direct sight line of the bar so I’m not sure why she forgot about us all the time. The pizza we got was not good and looked super depressing. For being a pizzeria, we’ve definitely had better pizza at many other places. We got the bresaola pizza (last one under pizze bianche) and it just wasn’t good. It was edible hence 2 stars instead of 1, but I absolutely do t recommend this place. Maybe we had bad luck, but just...

Absolutely the most unwelcome I have ever been treated in any restaurant in my life. Our hotel "Capo De Africa" recommended this restaurant (directly adjacent) so we tried it and it did look good as the hotel staff and reviews have noted. Unfortunately we were never seated. We stood waiting for a table while other guests entered behind us budged in line and we're seated courteously and promptly. My wife and I could only assume these guests were local which is fine with us if it were not for the extremely hateful stares and treatment we received. My wife finally asked if we could be seated and the hateful response told us what we had felt that we were not welcome at La Rioni. It is unquestionably the most hateful and disrespectful experience that either my wife or I have had in our lives. We sincerely hope that if you are from the states or any where else you are treated much better while you...

Li Rioni lives and breathes pizza. This is pizza Rome style: a cracker‑thin, ultra‑crisp crust baked in a wood‑fired oven, topped with exactly the right balance of fresh tomato, cheese, and flavorful ingredients. Diners rave about how fresh everything tastes and how satisfying even the simplest Margherita can be. The vibe matches: warm, authentic, right just three blocks from the Colosseum. The owner actively mingles with guests, the staff is welcoming, and you feel instantly at home. If you go big with wine, pizzas, appetizersit still comes in around €30 each. If you keep it simple and go light, it’s around €10–15 for excellent pizza and maybe a carafe of house wine. This isn’t just a great pizza place. It’s a Rome memory waiting to happen.

Not sure what the great reviews are about...the fried mozzarella balls were yummy but that was about it. Our margherita pizza with prosciutto was burnt and didn't even come with greens or fresh mozzarella. We were one of few tourists there and it took an extra hour for our pizza to come after appetizers. At least two Italian speaking tables finished before us. We had no wait but a huge line was forming when we left. We were also confused when they brought us our limoncellos before our meal instead of after. Not worth the high reviews they got. We were sad this was where we decided to go for our last meal in Rome.

Eat where the locals eat... and this is such a place! At this place the locals will stand in line to get a table! They offer a great variety of fresh red and white pizzas. The service by the friendly staff was quick (although the place was completely full) and correct. We had the white house wine, which was also very good. We had to sit inside to eat and in the beginning there was a loud (not really disturbing) atmosphere (because the place was fully booked) but the great food made up for it big time. We will go back here for sure for some great pizza!
