Gelato San Lorenzo 100 % Naturale — Restaurant in Rome

Visited this place last night. The gelato was great and decor was very cute and pleasant, however I can not say the same about the staff. The one young woman was quiet but nice, the other man (tall, mustach with tattoos) was very rude. Group of 4 of us were speaking English (we are from US) to each other but we understand Italiano and one girl in our group is fluent, too bad this employee didn't know that because the nice couple who came in after us asked if we were ready to order and the employee said in Italiano "don't worry about them they are just dumb Americans." We were shocked but let it go. THEN we went to pay and he shorted our change by 10€ . When I confronted him about it he laughed and basically just said my bad and gave me a 10. Im sure he was trying to give himself a nice tip from the "dumb Americans." Absolutely horrible costumer service. Like I said the gelato was good but there are plenty of other places to get it. During our first time in Italy, some friends and I stayed in the area of this Gelato spot. We tried it our first night and fell in love. All of the flavors we tried were so delicious and fresh tasting. There were also lots of vegan options. The service was excellent.The smalls were actually small - instead of the "small" ice cream in the USA which is so big you can barely finish it. The gelato was very reasonably priced, we were actually pleasantly surprised by how affordable it was for such high quality gelato. The atmosphere is great with nice indoor air conditioned seating. We returned the next day and tried new flavors - which were equally delicious. If we had a chance to stay longer, then we would've become regulars. Overall...

Completely insane. Some of the best gelato I’ve ever had. The dark chocolate and and Roman biscuit flavors were really good, especially the dark chocolate. The pear flavor was surprisingly really great as well. Also, the small ice cream sandwiches are great! I had a coconut covered one that was to die for.

The staff are friendly and playful, and willing to go the extra mile to help you out. You can try Andy flavor you like prior to purchase. The store is spotless and modern. The treats and creams beam under glittering glass.
