I Broke my personal rule of never eating at a hotel restaurant/bar, and made a reservation on our first evening staying because it sounded fun and popular.

Wife and I got 1 drink each and both had 2 tacos... (Well, 1.3 tacos each, but I'll get to that). The drinks were very good but on the pricey side at €16 each.

We had the guacamole appetizer which was decent and well seasoned. The "chips" are on the thicker side and small compared to more authentic Mexican places, but they were still freshly made and Delicious.

The taco selection was diverse and we were excited to see octopus as an option since we both love a well prepared octopus dish.

The tacos are listed at €10 on the menu, and confirmed it to be per single Taco. This seemed a bit expensive, but maybe it was for a massive taco to justify the higher prices? Spoiler, it wasn't.

My wife and I each ordered 1 Carnitas (Pork) taco and 1 Octopus each. The tacos came out and were not big but indeed the street style, small tortillas tacos For €10 each! That's just insane, considering you can get a great full size sandwich for half that on the same block.

The pork was really SPICY, probably a bit more than necessary for those who don't care for the food to fight back in a culinary death-match. But they tasted pretty good and there was A LOT of meat on this taco, actually too much for 1 small tortilla. Half your taco will be on the plate after a single bite.

This is a simple suggestion for the owners: Split that big pile of meat from your single taco into 2 smaller tacos and it will seem a lot easier to justify the €10 cost and you only are giving up a single extra tortilla per order which costs you almost nothing...

Final note, the reason we only had 1.3 tacos each was the Octopus was not good. Both my wife and I have eaten a lot of octopus, it's one of our favorite foods. The octopus on our tacos tasted off (a bit fishy) and neither of us were interested in chancing it past the first bite. Maybe it was a bad batch and others are willing to roll those dice. As per usual, as in almost all Italian eating establishments, as soon as your food is dropped off, the staff want almost nothing more to do with you. They will not ask if you would like another drink, dessert or if the food was good... Nothing. You have to actively get their attention just to ask for the check, but that's a euro thing, and not a specific ding on this place.... Still it's amazing how difficult it was despite being the only ones sitting at the bar top, 2ft away from the bartender... anyways,

For those keeping score, we had: 2 Palomas 4 street style tacos (only 2 edible) 1 small dish of Guacamole and chips

It cost us €90!!!!

Don't bother with this place, your wallet can thank me later. We ate at so many amazing restaurants the rest of our stay in the area, and every time we would get more angry about the damn tacos when a delicious meal of appetizers ,2 entrees, and a bottle of wine was always cheaper than our misguided night out to "Sexico"... (That's what all their shirts say, not joking.)

If you take your date to HEY GÜEY, I would not expect to be rewarded with any...

Ho scelto questa meravigliosa terrazza per festeggiare il compleanno.Inizio ad accordarmi telefonicamente, più di un mese prima, con l'organizzatrice, una ragazza molto gentile e disponibile di nome Carlotta. Una settimana prima chiedo un appuntamento per accordarci sugli ultimi dettagli come la posizione dei tavoli, il menu definitivo etc.. ma vengo accolta da un'altra manager che mi liquida in 2 minuti, annunciandomi che la cucina non era ancora attiva quindi dovevamo accontentarci di quello che potevano offrirmi e i posti li avevano decisi loro e praticamente "è cosi se ve va" lasciandomi in piedi, sbigottita.Decido di fermarmi per l'aperitivo anche perché ormai avevo pagato la prima metà del preventivo e prima di sbroccare e recarmi altrove andando incontro a nuove difficoltà, volevo valutare con ponderazione 😅 L'aperitivo consisteva in platani fritti e nachos con salsa guacamole, buoni ma niente di wow. Comunque il tramonto su quella terrazza è davvero mozzafiato e quindi "vabbeh dai, puntiamo sulla bellezza e sull'alcol". Arriva il conto: 100 euro e 80 centesimi. Non avevamo gli 80 centesimi e quindi proponiamo di pagarli con carta..ma dopo una riunione dello staff si accontentano di 100 euro e 50 centesimi. Vengo ricontattata il giorno dopo da Carlotta, alla quale comunico il mio scontento e la volontà di voler annullare la prenotazione ma lei prende in mano la situazione e mi risolve tutto ovvero posizione dei tavoli, menu etc..in un attimo. Tremo, prego, e alla fine decido di fidarmi ma soprattutto affidarmi all'unica persona che, seppure non incontrata di persona, mi dava più speranze e soprattutto l'impressione che qualcuno lavorasse davvero con passione in quel posto e non stava li per caso...Arriva il giorno della festa. Carlotta non c'è e io gia inizio a tremare ... ancora non è chiaro ai camerieri, al responsabile di sala e all'altra organizzatrice, quali sono i miei tavoli ma, dopo un attimo di panico, si sono attenuti a quanto avevo stabilito con Carlotta salvo presentarmi un menu che non corrispondeva alla mia richiesta e farmi pressioni continue per iniziare a servire la cena mentre io chiedevo di aspettare l'arrivo di tutti gli invitati. Comunque, una volta servito, il cibo era davvero ottimo, non quello che avevo scelto (tacos inventati li sul momento)ma ottimo.La serata prosegue meravigliosamente (anche i cocktail molto molto buoni) se non per i continui spintoni dei camerieri che al grido di "fatece passa" attraversavano la sala. Ora vabbeh che avreste voluto gente inchiodata al tavolo ma anche meno. Arriva il momento della torta: arriva tagliata e non intera. Grazie a Dio erano 3 le torte. Quella rimasta integra la faccio servire su uno dei MIEI tavoli PRENOTATI, il piu illuminato per fare le foto, ma alla prima foto mi dicono che mi devo spostare perché quel tavolo lo avevano dato ad un'altra prenotazione. Decido di fare finta di niente, è la fine della festa, sarebbe un peccato rovinarla... Arriva il momento del conto e mi comunicano che avrei dovuto pagare giù, alla reception dell'albergo, dove vengo" accolta" da un tizio che credo abbia fatto del suo meglio per risultare antipatico, arrogante e maleducato. Nonostante io stessi pagando una cifra esorbitante per L'offerta (che non corrispondeva a quanto pattuito) e con 552 euro di extra più 100 euro per servire la torta. Decido di pagare in contanti ma, purtroppo, ancora una volta non ho spicci quindi.... il tizio mi ringhia di pagarli con il Pos i 2 euro. Chiedo ad uno degli organizzatori che era sceso con me se questo tipo fosse interno alla struttura o se fosse stato messo li per caso, da qualcuno, magari per punizione... e invece no, anche se non sa usare la cassa e sono dovuti intervenire gli altri ragazzi dello staff per fargli capire come si usasse facendoci perdere mezzora, lavora proprio li.Risalgo in terrazza, incazzata come una iena ma respiro e annego la rabbia in un cocktail che pero, mi viene offerto dell'organizzatore che mi aveva accompagnato giù e che era più scioccato di me. I’ve experienced eating tacos in multiple luxury restaurants before dining in Hey Güey. I’ve enjoyed Mexican food for years.

The pricing is extremely disappointing and very expensive. €8 for one taco is crazy, I expected 3 tacos for that price! I’ve read from other reviews that the reasoning behind their pricing is that the ingredients are all handmade at the restaurant and not bought pre-made. However, that is expected in Mexican food restaurants?

The drinks are also quite expensive (€8 for 330ml Corona). Go to another restaurant of the same quality and you’d get about 500ml for €6 or €7 maximum.

I suggest the menu be updated and specify how much ml you are paying for (e.g Corona 330ml bottle). I expected about 500ml when I read the menu.

This along with the taco pricing (e.g €8 per taco). These additions would help customers understand the high pricing before visiting.

I’ve read the average cost is €25 but that’s probably because people walk out when they see the little portion of food they’ve paid for unknowingly.

The restaurant is beautiful, has a great atmosphere and creates tasty Mexican food but the pricing of their food is just ridiculous and a great disappointment and I hope Hey Güey take this...
