Hostaria Pizzeria da Nonna Nella — Restaurant in Rome

We came for a family meal after being recommended this restaurant by our host. To begin with the waiters were rude and surly when we asked to move tables. Our mains were delivered at different times. Our pasta’s arrived but our children had to wait for roughly 20 minutes. We asked our waiter how long and he was quite dismissive about how long. When pressed he said soon. Our pastas were not authentic to say the least. My husband’s meal was tepid with no flavour. My arrabbiata was laced with garlic and just a basic tomato sauce. Not flavoursome or spiced. I had to get up and see what the delay was with my children’s meals. The waiter then changed his manner with me and said two minutes and he was sorry. Pizzas eventually arrived, by this point my meal was luke warm. When we finished our meal rather hastily, I asked for the bill. The bill arrived with a 8 euro service charge. Total bill of over 70 euros - which for a very poor meal and terrible was quite frankly ridiculous. The waiter reasoned this was a typical meal in Italy, which we found incredibly patronising as we have been to Italy numerous times and eat pasta etc back home. Eventually they waived the service charge. I would not recommend this establishment at all unless you want to throw your money away and not have the family...

The food here tastes like cardboard, while the employees do not seem interested in doing their work at all.

The pizza had a HAIR in it (deep into the melted cheese, so it couldn't have fallen outside the kitchen) and the waiters were absolutely careless, did not even apologize. Asked me if I wanted another pizza but why would I want 2 tasteless pizzas?

At this point I had lost all my appetite because of the disgusting food and the bad service.

Tables are dirty and unkept.

Both waiters were constantly on their phones instead of taking care of the customers, as I said, they did not even apologise about the hair, just shrugged it off and went back on their phone.

Pasta tastes like plastic with a lot of pepper and nothing else.

Asked to pay with card (which they allegedly have as a payment method), but they did not provide a card reader. Had to call the waiter three times until he acknowledged our existence, the first two times he looked at us and proceeded as if nothing. Overall, really really bad.

Even the people on the table next to us had a complaint about the food, so one can tell it...

Sono tornata trovando il locale rinnovato, più ampio con due sale interne affrescate a mo' di antica Roma trasteverina e spazio per bambini. Confermo la bontà delle pizze, della carbonara e del tiramisù. Servizio sempre cordiale e gentile, soprattutto da parte di Andrea che ci ha serviti.

Goloso il Tagliere della casa con frittini, frittatina, pizzette, bruschette, crudo, formaggio..., succulenti le scaloppine ai porcini, buona la cicoria e ben cotte e condite le pizze (margherita, funghi e focaccia con bresaola). Servizio gentile e cortese da parte di tutto il personale. Prezzi nella media ma più alti nello scontrino rispetto al menu e piccolo errore sul conto.

Sono tornata per la terza volta in questo ristorante per una cena di martedì con 5 amici. Non avevo specificato se volevamo stare all’interno o meno e c’era posto solo all’aperto dove, per fortuna, siamo capitati vicino all’unico fungo non soffrendo il freschetto di quella serata. Siamo stati serviti dall’unica cameriera della serata, Laura, che pur essendo molto simpatica, non ha portato con puntualità e precisione le pietanze. Avevamo ordinato delle bruschette semplici (€ 2), al pomodoro (€ 3), dei supplì (€ 2) e un filetto di baccalà (€ 4) e la metà degli antipasti non sono mai arrivati. Segnalato il problema, disdette le bruschette al pomodoro, il resto è giunto dopo le pizze senza lode né infamia. Tutte le pizze ordinate (Capricciosa € 8, Porcini € 8, Tirolese € 8– con speck e provola -, Ciccio Buffo € 9- con salsiccia e patate e la focaccia bresaola, rucola e grana € 10) sono risultate fini, croccanti, ben condite e cotte, complimenti al pizzaiolo. Abbiamo pasteggiato con fresche birre Peroni in bottiglia € 5 e acqua € 2. Abbiamo concluso il pasto con grappa € 5, amaro € 4 e torta ricotta e cioccolato € 6 che non ci ha soddisfatti un granché. Gentilissimo il ragazzo alla cassa, sebbene ci ha fatto pagare il coperto per 6 per cui avevo prenotato e non per 5 quanti in realtà eravamo. Prezzi nella media. Locale carino che consiglio, collegato bene con mezzi pubblici e su un tratto di Viale Trastevere dove non sarà difficile parcheggiare.

Due volte su due cena ok! Polletto ai ferri sfizioso! Gricia ottima, amatriciana discreta, Antipasto Nonna Nella super la seconda. La prima pizza e supplì ok! Ho riscontrato sempre gentilezza e accoglienza in questo spazioso ristorante dalle bellissime mura in bassorilievo che rappresentano la vita trasteverina. All'entrata un bel forno a legna con un bravissimo pizzaiolo che ci ha fatto gustare una focaccia semplice e delle - perfettamente cotte e ben condite - pizze romane (capricciosa, focaccia condita, cipolla e alici). I supplì al telefono grossi e filanti, croccante e dorato - ma un po' piccolino - il filetto di baccalà da accompagnare con la maionese alle erbette. Delizia delle delizie il tiramisù al pistacchio con decorazione di cioccolata (un cuore, la scritta happy..) simpatica sul piatto. Fresche le birre alla spina.Ai tavolini all'esterno è rispettato il distanziamento. Buon rapporto...
