During our visit, we encountered a brief rain shower. While it might have dampened the spirits elsewhere, here it added a touch of magic. Read moreWe got there at 20:30 as per our reservation...1st off we noticed the waiter offered to take everybody’s jackets except ours! But that’s okay as we didn’t really care about it..she then gave us the menu...about 30 mins later she comes back to take the drinks order..normally by now in any restaurant in the world we would be having our main course...we then realize that she is very slow so we thought let’s order everything on the spot because who knows when we will be attended to again..we place our orders...about 40 mins later...we see people that had arrived about 30 mins after us getting food...oh and she poured us half a glass of wine compared to others around us..that had full glasses..so we ask her how is it that we haven’t received any food or service really...she starts shouting as if we were in the wrong and starts screaming get out get out! Get out of a hotel that we paid for and are staying in..we were even in the premium rooms..which is a pity because it is people like us that keep food on her table..I now understand why she is quite elderly and still waiting tables at a hotel restaurant..people like this never amount to...
Read moreSpied a sign that said "roof top restaurant" and decided to give it a try - best decision possible. Little bit of a hike through a hotel to get to it, so not overly accessible, but the restaurant is amazing. Staff are super friendly and although the prices are a little bit above average especially for drinks, so many appetisers and extras were brought that we practically didn't need the meal!
The meal itself was authentic and well presented, and tasted amazing. I had lasagne Bolognese, and you certainly know you're ordering it in Italy from this restaurant as the flavours were out of this world.
Icing on the cake was the bells from one of two Basilicas about 30yrds away ringing....
