I want to congratulate this restaurant for hiring the most unprofessional and idiotic manager or host in all the restaurants i have been in my life. Most probably he is the son of the owner, because there is no other explanation for his presence. By reading the comments, i feel very lucky that they got my order right and i got the food I ordered. What i have experienced in this restaurant is hilarious. A funny story that i will remember for the rest of my life. Congratulations to the owner by hiring the most useless host for his restaurant. Ps: the food was very good. The person that took our order was very polite, but he was very busy running around. And no, tourists are not welcomed in this restaurant. If you are the tourist, no matter how well dressed or how much money you want to spend. They don’t care. Is the first time in my life, i go to a restaurant and the manager of the restaurant is telling me to my face, that the gentlemen that are sitting next to me, are friends of mr Pietro ( obviously the boss ) and they are going to be served before me. We don’t care who mr pietro is mr manager and definitely we don’t care who are you, maybe for you is your boss, for me is just someone that i pay to prepare and serve one of my numerous of dinners.

A hidden gem that came highly recommended by my local friends. Although it wasn't on any of the typical tourist to-do lists, I had a feeling that this place would be something special, simply because it had the stamp of approval from the Roman locals. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff made us feel right at home. Our waiter, Massimo, deserves a special mention for his exceptional service. He was attentive, friendly, and truly made our dining experience memorable. Every single dish we tried was absolutely spectacular. It's hard to pick favorites, but the veal milanese and the pasta Amatriciana were truly outstanding. The veal milanese was cooked to perfection, with a crispy golden crust and tender meat inside. The pasta Amatriciana had the perfect balance of flavors, with the rich tomato sauce and the savory guanciale blending harmoniously. The chefs deserve a round of applause for their culinary expertise. The dishes were prepared with precision and attention to detail, showcasing the flavors of traditional Roman cuisine. I must say, I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon this wonderful eatery. Trust the locals, and you won't be disappointed.

I don’t typically write reviews but after one or the most over-stimulating, stressful dining experience I’ve ever had, I felt this restaurant warranted an honest review.

We didn’t reserve so naturally waited quite a while for a table, but the reviews were good so we thought it would be worth it. We finally got seated and we were right next to the kitchen doors so it was very chaotic with the staff running past us all the time and shouting at each other which was very disturbing when you are trying to enjoy your meal.

We ordered our starters which were really nice (can’t go wrong with caprese salad and prosciutto and melon) but we had the prosciutto but they did not give us the melon, we had to ask 3 times before we finally received that.

One of the waiters knocked the cutlery off the table and did not replace, brought the mains out with no cutlery so we had to get their attention to ask for cutlery - gave us a fork and no knife (at this point we just thought it was easier to not have a knife). We also had to get up and find our own napkins as the table was not set properly.

Mains came out far too quickly and it tasted like that also, very basic and not living up to the expectations we had after reading the reviews. We also ordered a side which never came, again we didn’t even bother to mention it because at this point we just wanted to eat and leave as soon as possible.

We had to ask 2 times for the wine menu - it had sharp nails sticking out of it and he said he didn’t have another menu???? We ordered a bottle of wine, he gave us the wrong bottle and after paying we realised he actually charged us €50 for the one we ordered, not €40 which was the one we received.

There was also a dog at another customers table and a woman vaping in the restaurant.

Honestly couldn’t get out of their quick enough, like I said one of the most stressful dining experiences.

Very sad to be writing this as we had such high expectations that were not met in the slightest. Disappointing and would not recommend.

If you’re looking for a relaxed dining experience where the food is extremely high quality and the staff attend to you properly just down the road is il Porto do Ripetta, which I highly...
