Husband and I had such an amazing meal this evening at @piccolatoscana
We randomly stumbled upon the restaurant a few days ago and had an amazing lunch, a big part of the positive experience was the fantastic customer service we received.
The restaurant is run by the most hospitable, friendly and kind couple we could have ever hoped to meet during our holiday in Rome.
They catered to our dietary requirements, nothing was too much trouble and we were treated like family, they made us feel so welcome and at home.
Just want to say a big thanks to Carla, her husband and all the staff at the restaurant by sharing this story with you all.
To begin with, we were surprised with this complimentary starter - tomatoes and bread soaked in vingear and olive oil, it was so delicious and refreshing, I wanted to lick the bowl clean 😋
I then ordered the sea bass with potatoes.
I wasn’t expecting it to come out like this when I had ordered it, so elegant, didn’t want to ruin it!
The potatoes were cooked to perfection and the fish was light and flaky. Proper Mediterranean fish. I didn’t want it to end 😫😭.
Here’s another angle of this Beauty.
Hubby ordered spinach and smoked cheese ravioli, he also said he didn’t want his meal to end because it was so delicious!
Then we ordered this cheesecake.
We actually got this as a complimentary dish a few days ago when we first got to Rome and I’ve been wanting to have it again ever since.
I’m not usually a lover of fruit on cheesecake, but let me tell you, this was DIVINE. I really want the recipe!!!
Then we were about to pay and leave.
At that moment we were surprised with yet another complementary dessert! It was scrumptious, light and airy; perfect way to end the meal!
It wasn’t just the complimentary treats that made this an amazing service but also the genuine interest and conversation they made with us with no hidden agenda.
Just genuine nice people, who have clearly invested in good staff and good food. Every single person went above and beyond.
Thank you so much! I would highly recommend you all visit if you are ever in Rome.
Grazie Mille 💝

Read moreFood was very over priced and the service was poor. I would not reccommend this restaurant... there are plenty of restaurants around this area for a much better price and with tasty food. We came to this restaurant because of some good reviews, ignoring other reviews which made similar comments ... but we had a very dissappointing experience.
We were charged a service fee of €2 per person and was given bottled water - even though we specifically asked for tap (since they brought the bottle opened to the table, we could not ask that we return it). When asking the waitress for reccommendations and for the restaurant specialty, she shrugged her shoulders and said she doesn't know before walking off...
For entree we ordered the fried calamari wooth zucchini (€15). This dish was actually well cooked and calamari fresh; it is the only reason I am giving the restaurant 2 stars and not 1.
For mains we ordered: Steak and potatoes (€20) and the Sea Bass with potatoes and artichoke (€22) (there was no more porcinin mushrooms which was on the menu so they served it with artichoke). The steak was cooked well, however the fried potatoes were bland and were not cooked well.... not crunchy at all and they had absolutely no flavour. I note that the steak was only seasoned with salt and olive oil so there was no sauce to mask the horrible potatoes. The sea bass was fresh but the whole dish was incredibly greasy and lacked flavour. The potato was two thin slices of grilled potato which was soaked in olive oil. The artichoke was also deep fried and did not go well with the fish. Considering the fish was also fried and soaked in oil, this dish was incredibly dissappointing and the only positive was the fresh fish.
Overall very dissappointing experience and would not...
