Mamalia Restaurant — Restaurant in Rome

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Mamalia. We had quite mediocre expectations for a hotel restaurant, but it was pouring rain in Rome and we had just gotten in to town and wanted to settle in to our hotel, so we decided to try it out for dinner. This dinner exceeded all expectations. It was incredible. One of the best meals we had on our trip to Italy. Our server, Aleksandra, was the most gracious and knowledgeable server I think I have ever had. She was so friendly, and was incredibly busy handling around 10 other tables in the restaurant on her own. She took her time to tell us about the wine and the courses that we ordered. The food was wonderful. We ordered the cheese plate to start and our server explained all the cheeses as well as her own recommended pairings for each. Then we got the pasta amatriciana, it was incredible. I got the eggplant parmigiana and my husband ordered the sea bass. Both were amazing and absolutely exceeded all expectations for a hotel meal in Rome. We have 2 rooms in a party of 3. Overall it’s great. Staff (Antonio, Valentina) and the others are all very keen to help. There was a slight miscommunication regarding the scrambled eggs billing but they sorted it out very quickly. I gave only a 4* for the food, as I’m vegetarian and would have preferred more leafy greens. Other than that the selection is fine. Keep up the good...
