It was hot in Rome in August and after meeting friends in a nearby restaurant we were looking for a nice gelateria to cool off at the end of the night. We had the kids with us but we also had a large number of Romans in our group and they were generally not in favour of us going here. They were concerned that it was too close to the Vatican and so probably a tourist trap. They were wrong. Or maybe they were right. Maybe tourists love it here. I imagine everybody loves it here because the gelato is so good.
I was too hot to wait for people to be contacted to get a personal recommendation and I was not willing to walk far just so I could heat up further when I wanted to cool down. We went to Manny's. Everybody agreed it was the right choice. The ice cream is incredible.
For vegans, there are plenty of sorbet options. The dark chocolate orange ice cream is exceptional. It is so good that while I was staying in Balduina, about 30 minutes walk away, I considered walking back here several times to get another taste. For the sake of my waste line I resisted. I can still taste it now. Buonissimo!

I asked for strawberry and they didn't have the flavor, because strawberries are not in season, which honestly is the best possible thing they could have said, because indeed the season has already finished :) The staff was very friendly and the girl make sure to show me the amount before beeping my card (probably because of the incident of the guy in the reviews claiming to get overcharged) In summary, just great gelato and service, it deserves the good ratings it has. I highly recommend the mango flavor
