I don't know is it because this is the very first restaurant in Rome I've been to, or because of an awesome pizza, but I have nothing but praise for this place! It is maybe a bit hidden off the standard tourist pathways, but it's very casual, laid back and a traditional place. That also means that it is tight and crowded, where you sit and eat next to a complete stranger, but that is a part of the exeperience! The pizza is probably one of the best I've ever eaten (I ordered one with gorgonzolla, rocket and salmon). I got it in front of me in less than 10 minutes after ordering. The size of it was just perfect for a grown man! It went great with a traditional Italian lager (Birra Moretti). We had a live performer, singing Italian songs and playing a guitar, going round the tables unobtrusively, while we were eating. The guy was worth a tip. The staff was nice, polite and always smiled, the waitresses were lightning fast and also very cheerful. If I ever get back to Rome, this is the place I'll be eating at. Worth every euro, and a great value for money ratio! Absolute reccomendation!

I recently visited Pizzeria Dar Poeta and had a fantastic experience. One of the standout features of the restaurant is their wholemeal pizza, which was absolutely delicious. It was great to have the option for people who can't eat normal bread/dough, and the quality of the pizza was outstanding. The other pizzas on the menu were also excellent, with fresh ingredients and a perfect crispy crust. The service was friendly and attentive, and our server made sure we had everything we needed. The setting and atmosphere of the restaurant were also very good, with a cozy and comfortable vibe that made us feel right at home. Overall, I highly recommend Pizzeria Dar Poeta to anyone looking for a delicious and unique pizza experience in Rome.

One of my friends recommended this place telling me it was the best pizza in Rome. I looked it up and saw the amazing reviews by so many people so I decided to go with my wife and try it out. We were disappointed with the pizza and personally didn't like. I ordered the Carbonara Pizza because it was recommended and I did not like it one bit. The first thing I didn't like was the "white" pizza. The flavor was very strong and felt very salty and to my liking it needed the tomato sauce. My wife ordered one that had zucchini, tomatoes and sausage. She enjoyed it a bit more than me but didnt finished it. She said it was an ok pizza. Now I am not saying these are the worse I am just saying I personally didn't like those 2 pizzas. We also ordered 2 suppli and I salad as appetizers and those were delicious. I would like to go back some other time and try the margherita which looked delicious and see if that changed my perspective of this place but so far this pizza just wasn't for us.

Very good pizza and cute place, but the service was terrible. I tried the La Speciale, Funghi, and Spicy salami pizza. They were all really good, but the Spicy salami was my favorite. The crust was perfectly thin and crunchy, and the sauce was great. The waiters, on the other hand, were quite rude and inattentive, and i did not feel welcome. I felt like I was at bother. If you don’t care that much about good service, but you’re looking for a pretty place to eat good pizza, then this is the pizzeria for you. The short waiter with brown hair, tattoos and red Jordans served us, he seemed annoyed and uninterested the whole time, and put our plates and glasses down very aggressively.

Tbh, I don't understand the hype. We went there after being recommended by a friend and following the crazy nice reviews. Is it located in a cozy street of Trastevere neighborhood. Most of the outside seating is uncomfortable due to the uneven surface and tables are put way to close to each other. Service is very average, too many guests too less staff. Honestly, they didn't seem to care. Although the specials, we couldn't finish the our pizzas. They didn't taste good at all. Too hard to cut through, too sour to eat. Plenty of unfinished food on the plates. It made me sad. I'm sorry, I cannot recommend this place.

Dar Poeta in Trastevere is a delightful surprise. The restaurant might look modest, but the pizzas are anything but. I tried the pizza matriciana, and it was incredible. Think fresh tomato sauce, generous guanciale, and a touch of freshly cracked pepper. What really makes it special is the pecorino Romano instead of mozzarella, adding a bold, sharp twist to every bite. The ingredients are top-notch, and the service is friendly and welcoming. If you’re in Rome and exploring Trastevere, make sure to stop by Dar Poeta. This is one pizza experience you won’t want to miss.
