If you're looking for a little slice of Italian heaven, look no further than Pompi! While they are famous for their absolutely divine tiramisu – and trust me, you must try it (they have several tempting flavors!) – Pompi offers so much more to delight your taste buds. During my visit, I was also incredibly impressed by their creamy and flavorful gelato. It was the perfect refreshing treat. And if you have a sweet tooth craving something a bit different, their selection of cakes looked incredible, and I couldn't resist trying one of their authentic Sicilian cannoli. The crisp shell and rich, sweet filling were simply perfect. What truly sets Pompi apart is the quality of their ingredients and the obvious passion they put into their creations. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. The atmosphere is welcoming, making it a lovely spot to indulge in a treat and perhaps enjoy a coffee. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Pasticceria Pompi is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates exceptional desserts. It's more than just a pasticceria; it's an experience. I wholeheartedly...
Read moreQuick service, especially for a touristy place. Delivers quality for a reasonable price. The cone with gelato was quite delicious, crunchy, topped with chocolate and nuts. It was a little stale (made recently but exposed to the humid air), but do not let this detract from the fact that the gelato is smooth, creamy, not too sweet, extremely flavorful, and cold (but not too cold). I have coffee and strawberry tiramisu. The coffee had a strong coffee flavor which was very powerful. Exactly what I would expect from Italians. The tiramisu was packed with fresh strawberries (it was hard to tell, but I believe they were seasonally ripened strawberries vs frozen, reason being they didn't have the texture of twice frozen strawberries). Lastly, I had the tiramisu "Classico" which was divine. Second best tiramisu I have had to date! It was creamy with a spongy soft texture soaked in not too much coffee. Presentation is my only complaint, but for the volume they sell I am still extremely satisfied. Definitely my top place for sweets in Roma. I highly...
Read moreI honestly don’t get the hype around this underwhelming box of Tiramisu. I’ve been here twice now, thinking maybe it’s just me, but no—my taste buds seem fine. For €5, I expected more, both in terms of portion size and overall experience. It’s really not much compared to other places in Rome where you get better value for your money.
I tried both the classic and pistachio tiramisu. Of the two, the classic was slightly better—it had a decent coffee flavor, which I appreciated as a coffee lover. But even then, it lacked the rich, creamy texture you’d expect from a good mascarpone-based tiramisu.
The pistachio version, however, was a letdown. As someone who adores pistachio, I found it bland—it didn’t capture the essence of either pistachio or tiramisu. Instead, it just tasted like heavy cream.
Overall, the flavors were just okay. There’s nothing remarkable here, and honestly, you can find far better, more authentic tiramisu at other spots in Rome. For me, this one doesn’t live up...
