I had one of the worst dining experiences at Ristorante Caffè Martini & Rossi, and it was all due to the incredibly rude waitress named Magda. From the moment we sat down, the service was a disaster.

First, Magda got our order wrong. Then we waited over 30 minutes for food, and by the time everyone at my table had finished eating, my pizza finally arrived. I asked to cancel it since we had a scheduled tour at the Colosseum and were traveling with three kids and had to leave right after.

Instead of understanding the situation, Magda was rude and dismissive, telling me I had to pay for the food I didn’t get a chance to eat and insisted I "just take it with me." I explained repeatedly that I didn’t want it, and when I asked to speak to a manager, she arrogantly said she was the manager and there was nothing she could do. No apology, no courtesy – just a cold attitude.

What made things worse is that every other table received complimentary bread right away, while ours got it 30 minutes later. I even noticed another table had a similar issue, and their order was canceled without a problem — by the same server! It felt like we were being singled out, and to be honest, her behavior seemed blatantly racist.

Only when I told her I would leave a review on Google did she suddenly change her mind, offering to cancel the charge and told us we could still take the pizza (which we didn’t want anymore). We ended up giving it to a homeless person because we were out of time and appetite after that awful experience.

Avoid this place at all costs – especially if you're a tourist or traveling with kids. There are so many better, friendlier places to eat in Rome that won’t...

Gorgeous breakfast with unforgettable views

If you’re visiting Rome and want to start your day somewhere special, Caffè Martini opposite the Colosseum is an absolute gem. I popped in for breakfast and was blown away by both the food and the location – it’s not every day you sip your morning coffee while gazing at one of the most iconic landmarks in the world.

The breakfast was fresh, well-presented, and delicious, with a great variety of choices to suit all tastes. The pastries were buttery and flaky, the eggs perfectly cooked, and everything tasted like it had been made with care.

One detail I really appreciated was that they offer decaf coffee – a rare find in some places, and perfect for me. My cappuccino was smooth, rich, and just the right temperature.

The view is truly the showstopper – you can sit outside and take in the Colosseum in all its glory while you eat. It feels like something out of a movie. Despite the prime location, the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and setting.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I left feeling full, happy, and ready for a day of exploring.

Highly recommended if you want a memorable breakfast in Rome with one of the most stunning...

I recently had the pleasure of being served by Corina at Caffe Martini, and I must say, her customer service was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm and genuine smile that immediately made me feel welcome. Her attentiveness and professionalism stood out as she effortlessly handled my order, ensuring that every detail was perfect.

Corina's knowledge about the menu was impressive; she offered insightful recommendations that perfectly matched my preferences. Throughout my visit, she was consistently attentive without being intrusive, checking in at just the right moments to ensure everything was to my satisfaction.

What truly set Corina apart was her genuine care for the customers. She went above and beyond to create a delightful experience, making me feel valued and appreciated. Her positive attitude and friendly demeanor created a wonderful atmosphere that made my visit to Caffe Martini truly memorable.

In a world where exceptional customer service is rare, Corina shines as a beacon of excellence. I highly recommend visiting Caffe Martini and experiencing her outstanding service for yourself. Corina is a true asset to the team, and I look forward to...

Im not sure where these positive reviews are from. I had a mediocre experience at this location. As we tried to order one pizza for two people since we weren't that hungry, the server told us it is 1 menu per person. I was kind of shocked that they impose such a rule. I guess they are in the most bustling area so I just accepted it. We ordered one pizza and gnocchi. Both were below average. Pizza dough tasted pretty bad and it was by far less tasteful compared to other restaurants. Atmosphere is quite pleasant since you get an awesome view of the colosseum. You pay for the view not for the food. Gnocchi was really not that great. So get something else if you are here. Don't expect a lot from this touristy place. Lastly, they charged 4 euros for the service fee. It wasn't stated clearly or I missed it on the menu that they will charge a service fee. They didn't bring bread or anything so I guess we paid for the table setting??? I'm confused. Be mindful of that cuz the service here isn't like amazing. Very below average food for awesome view so you can't have everything. Overall very underwhelming experience in front of the colosseum.

Could I ever have imagined eating such an amazing pizza in my life? It was my dinner after arriving in Rome from Paris, and despite the intricate techniques of Parisian cuisine, this pizza was just as impressive. Honestly, I don’t eat much—I’m a light eater. That’s why I never really liked pizza. But this one was different. The crispiness of the thin crust, the perfectly balanced tomato sauce, the rich buffalo cheese, the tangy red tomatoes, the sweet yellow tomatoes, and the fragrant basil—everything was just perfect. This was the best pizza I’ve had in my 45 years of life. This is my second time visiting Rome, and I truly hope that my family, friends, and any Koreans visiting the Colosseum will stop by this place and try this incredible pizza. A special thanks to the friendly greeter in front of the restaurant who spoke to me when I almost walked past, to Valentina for her warm hospitality, and to the handsome and charming manager who recommended beer instead of wine to pair with the pizza. The service was impeccable!
